The Death Railway Bridge
The Death Railway Bridge, also known as the "Bridge on the River Kwai" after the popular film of the same name, is Kanchanaburi's most well-known historical site. During WWII, it was built with the help of British, Dutch, and American prisoners of war.
The bridge was part of the Thai-Burmese "Death Railway," so named because so many men perished while it was being built. The railway would have helped supply supplies to Japanese troops battling the British in adjacent Burma, therefore development was overseen by Japanese forces.
Today, you can stroll or take a train across this bridge, which still has portions of the original framework. Surrounding the location are market stalls selling food and goods.

A Two-Day Trip to Kanchanaburi: Highly Rated Floating House Stay and Nearby Attractions
June 25-26, 2024: Rainy Trip to Kanchanaburi and Bangkok 🌧️
Over these two days, we had a journey full of surprises and changes in Kanchanaburi and Bangkok. Despite the uncooperative weather, we enjoyed every moment! ❤️
**8:00 | Start of Kanchanaburi Trip** 🚗
We set off early from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi. Although we encountered traffic jams, turning the original 3-hour drive into 4 hours, it didn't diminish our excitement for the trip. Plus, the ladies love shopping so much that even at a rest stop, they couldn't stop buying! We got a super sweet pomelo for 150 THB. Highly recommended!
**Lunch | Keeree Tara Restaurant** 🍽️
Upon arriving in Kanchanaburi, we headed straight to Keeree Tara Restaurant for lunch. The food at this floating restaurant and the surrounding river view made us forget the fatigue of the long journey. Although the prices are a bit high, the view makes it worth it.
**River Khwae Bridge** 🌉
After lunch, we walked for 2 minutes to the nearby River Khwae Bridge to take some photos. This famous bridge looked magnificent even on a rainy day, adding a touch of historical depth to our trip.
**The FloatHouse River Kwai Resort | Floating House Stay**
In the afternoon, we checked into the floating house at The FloatHouse River Kwai Resort. Despite the bad weather, the river view here was still mesmerizing, and the rainy scenery had a special charm. Enjoying the hotel's facilities and tranquil atmosphere, we were the first guests to check in today. Taking a boat to the hotel for check-in was a unique experience. It happened to be my aunt's birthday, although she insisted it wasn't her birthday because her birth date was reported late. Nevertheless, I bought a cake 🎂 and candles 🕯️ at a rest stop and celebrated at the hotel's restaurant. The staff were very considerate, putting the cake on a beautiful plate, lighting the candles, and playing the birthday song, making the birthday experience complete!
**6/26**
**Morning | Forest Walk** 🌳
We originally planned to set off at 9 AM, but due to the rain the previous day, we decided to delay by an hour and take a walk in the forest near the hotel first. We initially planned to visit the Noon Cave but found out it would take 45 minutes to get there, so we gave up. However, walking around nearby was still great.
We planned to visit Erawan Waterfall, but due to the rain, we had to leave it for next time. This place, with its seven-tiered waterfall and spa fish, is definitely on our list for the next visit!
**10:00 | Malika - R.E 124** 🏰
Later, we drove to Malika - R.E 124. In this place full of historical and cultural atmosphere, we strolled leisurely and took many beautiful photos. Probably because it was a weekday, there weren't many people in the park, allowing us to fully enjoy the tranquility and beauty here.
**Afternoon | Thonburi Seafood Market** 🦞
In the afternoon, after arriving in Bangkok, we first went to Thonburi Seafood Market to feast. The seafood here is really cheap and plentiful! Extremely fresh and satisfying! I highly recommend the marinated shrimp. Super delicious!
**Check-in | Vince Hotel Pratunam** 🏨
In the evening, we checked into Vince Hotel Pratunam. We originally planned to visit the night market, but due to the rain, we had to change our plans and went shopping at the nearby Big C instead.
**Big C | Buying Souvenirs** 🛒
At Big C, we saw countless tourists, all pushing carts full of souvenirs as if everything was free. We joined this shopping frenzy and picked out many interesting little gifts for our friends and family.
These two days were full of changes due to the weather, but we still had a great time. Thanks to every little episode on this trip, we experienced different sceneries and stories. Looking forward to the next adventure! ❤️

Kanchanaburi Skywalk, a new landmark
What you can't miss right now is the new Kanchanaburi Skywalk called the Song Kwae-Mae Klong Skywalk. It is a viewpoint of the two-colored river on the Kwai Yai River that is very beautiful and magnificent. For those who want to experience the newly opened Kanchanaburi tourist attractions

Is Erawan Falls worth visiting? Hell yes! One of the first things the owner of the guesthouse I was staying in Kanchanaburi told me is that Erawan Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Thailand, is definitely worth spending an entire day exploring.#nationalpark

The Death Railway contained a heavy history during World War II, when Japan forced the prisoners of war to build a railway connecting Bangkok, Thailand and Yangon, Myanmar. Tens of thousands of prisoners of war and workers lost their lives during the construction process, hence the name Death Railway. The current "Death Railway" has no such a sultry name as the name, but has become a famous sightseeing spot in Kanchanaburi. The "Death Railway" can mainly visit two sections, one is the River Kwai Bridge and the other is THAMKRA SAE.
This section is the essence of the Death Railway. The railway is built on the mountain. On one side is the steep cliff and on the other is the abyss. It is the most beautiful and most exciting part of the Death Railway.
The train station is simple, the stop sign reads the time when the train arrives at the station, so before we can go to the railway.
I came here for the first time, giving me the first impression here. It is like a scene in a Thai movie. It is very small and fresh, and I don't understand why it is called the Death Railway. Although it is very thrilling to walk on it, the scenery on both sides of the strait is simply beautiful. Take the train through the green woods, accompanied by lakes and mountains, as if traveling through the Wizard of Oz.
On the tail of the suspended railway section is the cave temple krasae cave. Some Thai locals will come to the temple to worship. Only the railway can reach this temple.
Floating floating house above the River Kwai, Thai people's creativity is not covered.
Thailand's rich tourism resources, cheap prices, is one of my favorite destinations for travel.
I went to Thailand three times, except for Phuket and Chiang Mai, this time I went to a relatively small city - Kanchanaburi, Thailand
this hotel has a total of 26 rooms, which need to be reached by boat. The location of the
hotel makes him the most natural holiday destination. The design of the

Room: The room is very spacious, the bed is very comfortable and the decoration style is very Southeast Asia.
Each room has the unique style of the River Kwai Water Hostel.
