Silver Pagoda｜Xishuangbanna Boruo Temple has a clear dress code
Visit Boruo Temple (Boruo Pagoda) in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna. Boruo Temple is not large and differs from many travel bloggers' descriptions online. If you want to take photos here, it is recommended to first offer incense or simply pay respects to show respect (personal opinion).
Boruo Temple has a clear dress code (e.g., no short skirts). During the visit, you can still hear monks reminding visitors through loudspeakers to put on jackets and not to take photos in tank tops.
Sometimes, we need to think from a different perspective. Although taking photos here is beautiful, I hope everyone does not just chase 'traffic' and 'enthusiastically check-in'.
💞Brief History of Boruo Pagoda
In the 3rd century BCE, the third king of the Maurya Dynasty, Ashoka, unified most of India, creating the largest empire in Indian history. Ashoka was a devout Buddhist, generously supporting monks and sending nine missionary groups to spread Buddhism domestically and abroad. The eighth group reached Suvarnabhumi, which includes Lower Burma and Central and Southern Thailand. Later, Buddhism spread to Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and other Southeast Asian countries. In the 7th century CE, Buddhism was introduced to the Dai and Sirang ethnic groups in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, China, and has been passed down to this day.
In the 295th year of the Dai calendar (833 CE), Elder Phra Maha Ananda led a group of monks to Xishuangbanna to spread Buddhism. With the support of King Chao Phongmara, and the villagers led by Phra Yajeng of Manzhen Village, Phra Yabalanmashan of Manying Village, and Phra Lanmapongong of Manzhuangxie Village, they built the Boruo Pagoda. The pagoda's core is 122 feet deep (about 8.5 meters), and it is said to enshrine two strands of the Buddha's hair. From 1628 to 1644 CE, the pagoda was rebuilt, and four Buddha relics were placed in its core.

After a series of unfortunate events during my Mid-Autumn Festival trip to Xishuangbanna, including closed attractions, heavy rain, and a midnight hotel change, I finally found a silver lining: the Xiyue VINVANA Hidden Resort was the right choice for this trip.

In conclusion, Xiyue is definitely worth a visit. I first heard about it from a travel show featuring Gulnazar and Yang Di. It exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely come back to Banna just for it.

It hasn't officially opened yet, but I happened to stay there. It's quiet amidst the hustle and bustle, naturally secluded, and located just outside the Gaozhuang Starlight Night Market. The exterior has a sense of understated luxury, reminiscent of walking in Gangnam, Seoul. It offers great privacy with a gated entrance that prevents any disturbances.
Although it's newly renovated, there's no pungent smell in the rooms. Instead, there's the fragrance of solid wood, which is very calming.
Shierlan by day and Shierlan by night have two different faces. The riverside view is stunning, with a serene and comfortable atmosphere that discourages idle visitors. However, I prefer the time when night falls. The infinity pool reflects the Lancang River Bridge, and being immersed in such an atmosphere makes you want to do nothing but enjoy the breeze and daydream, quietly waiting for time to pass. Today, I want to share with my sisters the hotel we stayed at on our last day in Xishuangbanna!
EASE VILLA HOTEL!
The hotel is also located in the bustling area of Gaozhuang Xishuang scenery.
The first impression this hotel gave me was full of luxury!
Right at the entrance is a super large swimming pool,
their pool is different from others,
situated between the floors,
and the color of the pool is particularly attractive,
this shade of blue under the sunlight is like the jelly sea of the Caribbean!
It looks amazing whether you take photos by the poolside or from the upper floors looking down!
The hotel rooms are also very spacious and clean,
the color scheme and layout of the rooms create a very comfortable atmosphere!
I absolutely love the combination of the large terrace and the floor-to-ceiling glass doors,
opening the curtains feels like unveiling a painting!

Xishuangbanna Day 2 Accommodation | Yunlan Riverside Hotel
| Yunlan Riverside Hotel. Since I'm in Banna, I want to stay in every hotel!
Today we moved to the neighboring Yunlan Riverside Hotel,
just a few steps away from yesterday's hotel,
also located in the bustling Gaozhuang Xishuang Scenic Area,
just a few minutes walk from the Starlight Night Market.
The room is very spacious and clean,
the bed is king size and very soft, very comfortable to sleep on!
This time we didn't book a river view, we stayed in a street view room,
I thought it would be noisy,
but the hotel's soundproofing is very good,
there was no street noise at all!
The most important thing is that this hotel has a high cost performance!
The huge swimming pool on the negative first floor of the hotel is my favorite!
During the day, because we went to various scenic spots,
so only at night did we have time to swim,
the pool is not only right by the Lancang River,
but there is also a small platform on the second floor where you can go up to enjoy the view!

Our hotel for the first day is the Jiangyu Jiangjing Hot Spring Hotel.
Let's talk about the hotel location first!
It's inside the largest attraction in Jinghong City, Gaozhuang Xishuang Scenic Area!
It took us just 20 minutes by taxi from Xishuangbanna Airport.
Then, from the hotel, we can walk to the Starlight Night Market and the Golden Pagoda Temple,
It's so convenient!
Next to the hotel, there are various restaurants, clothing stores, and fruit shops.
There is an infinity pool downstairs of the hotel where you can enjoy the view of the Lancang River,
It really is all in one step!
This time we stayed in a "cave" room,
As soon as I entered the room, I felt like I was in a room built inside a cave!
The room is colored in a striking orange and yellow,
Very stylish,
Staying in such a room is really interesting.
The room is also very spacious!
King size bed, bathtub, projector, large balcony, everything you need!
The hotel also thoughtfully provided complimentary fruit and snacks for afternoon tea.
