Belle Isle Park
A very nice island park in the middle of Detroit lake. Detroit river is a river divided Detroit and Windsor and serve as a border between United States and Canada. It is also a river connected Lake St Clair and Lake Erie, two large lakes in the Great Lakes. The island is not far away from Detroit and is a safe place to visit. It is recommended to drive to the park since the public transportation is really limited. There is only one bus line that goes to the island and the frequency is terrible. Also, considering the size of the island, you need to walk a lot if you do not have a vehicle. Riding a bike though is a good idea. It’s not a long ride departing from downtown. Though most people drive to the island.

Soon grand and majestic again
Possibly an ode to Detroit's former glory and a microcosm of itself, the majestic and more than a century old Michigan Central Station stood as a beautiful building in Corktown.
The former train terminus was for a long time abandoned and a popular area for people looking to film and photography ruins/abandoned buildings. It was also the site of many popular blockbuster films and movies.
The building was recently bought by Ford and is in the process of being renovated and restored. As a result it no longer holds that eerie and mysterious feeling it once did when it was abandoned. Nonetheless, it's absolutely fascinating to see how such a grand and majestic building could be left to ruins and highlights the seriousness of the issues the city faced/is still facing. It also shows the city's resilience and its desire to constantly press ahead and refurbish itself. There is nothing much in the surrounding area but Corktown does warrant a visit as well.
Overall a very interesting building to photograph and visit from the outside; although hopefully one can visit the inside soon enough.

Detroit: the Motor City
Detroit is often a forgotten city in the USA. It does get a bad rep for being a city of urban decay. However beyond this gritty image there lies a city to be explored and a city that's reimagining itself.
The downtown core does have its fair share of decaying and abandoned buildings but it still does have many fine examples of art deco buildings that date back to the booming years of Detroit as an industrial powerhouse. As such it's interesting to see this contrast of the post and present.
The city has a Greek town where you can still find many Greek restaurants. A bit further you'll find the Renaissance center which could be seen as a world away from the gritty side of Detroit. It's a very modern and clean center that's owned by GM and right on the riverside, making it also a very relaxing place to sit and relax.
Overall, Detroit is a safe enough city. Use common sense of course especially in more rundown parts of the city. When all is said and done, Detroit has a vibrant downtown scene with picturesque majestic buildings.

Detroit Pizza
The Detroit pizza pilgrimage/USA road trip may be on hold for a while, but in the meantime there's the amazing @hiptoeatsquare. Deep square pizza with tons of cheese, crispy edges and covered in ricotta, pesto and red sauce... so much sauce that I was literally wearing it. For the next England game, I'm getting a whole tray delivered! 🍕💯⚽️

#merrychristmas this great place it the maritime sailors cathedral in Detroit Michigan.
If you have heard the song “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” you will know this place. It has a special importance to the lakes and sea. Set near the shore in Detroit, it is a great place to come see for yourself. It is near the tallest hotel in the country too.

Detroit is quite the place!
I don’t know why, but Detroit gets a bad rap it does not deserve. Sure, like every city it has bad sections but the downtown is great. With Americans tallest hotel ( Marriott) to the GM headquarters it is a great place for a trip. Also stop by the Ford museum

US Travel - Mackinac Island, Michigan, is an island like a peach blossom. There are no cars on the island, only horse-drawn carriages. Everyone travels either by walking, or by horse-drawn carriage or by bicycle.
When I first got on the island, I was attracted by the carriage here. It was like a carriage in the fairy tale world, traveling through the small town. Sitting in a carriage ring tour made the hooves spread throughout every corner of the island, and of course left my footprints.
The island has an excellent ecological environment, and all kinds of small animals can be played without any worries. I am as slow as the island.
is like a time back in Mackinaw Island. It is like bringing you back to the United States in the 5/60s, letting you live a simple and happy life on the island, disturbing in our time. Its really hard to get in society.
The most beautiful is not rainy days, it is every day spent on Mackinac Island.

A must-stay hotel in Detroit for a unique experience!
Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at The Godfrey Detroit, Curio Collection By Hilton, located in the heart of Detroit. From check-in to check-out, the entire process was incredibly comfortable and convenient. Here are some of my experiences at the hotel.
1. Prime Location
The Godfrey Detroit, Curio Collection By Hilton is located in the heart of Detroit, making it very convenient. The hotel is only 1.2 miles (about 2 km) from Comerica Park and 1.4 miles (about 2.3 km) from Ford Field. This location is perfect for someone like me who loves entertainment and sports.
2. Extensive Facilities and Services
The hotel has a 24-hour fitness center with complete equipment, meeting my need to stay fit while traveling. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, so I could stay connected whether in my room or in public areas. The hotel also offers dry cleaning and laundry services, which made my trip much more convenient.
The hotel has two restaurants offering a variety of dining options, from American cuisine to British and Irish flavors. I especially enjoyed their room service, allowing me to enjoy delicious food in bed. The hotel's three bars also offer a variety of drinks, and having a drink every night became a habit for me.
3. Cozy and Comfortable Accommodation
I stayed in a deluxe corner room, which was 45.5 square meters, spacious and bright. The room was equipped with a smart TV, high-end bedding, and a comfortable Tempur bed, making me feel at home in a foreign country. The private bathroom had a hairdryer and bathrobe, with great attention to detail.
4. Thoughtful Service
The hotel offers 24-hour front desk service, responding to guests' needs at any time. The express check-in and check-out service saved me a lot of time. The hotel also offers multilingual services, allowing international travelers to communicate without barriers. Luggage storage and valet parking services made my trip much more convenient.
5. Other Special Services
The hotel also offers wedding services and venue reservations, making it a great place for business meetings or romantic weddings. I also noticed that the hotel has accessible facilities, providing convenience for guests with special needs.

Detroit is also a lot of fun - DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Detroit Downtown - Fort Shelby.
Overall, Detroit is not that bad (or as bad as the $1 house promotion), as can be seen from the hotel being fully booked that day. Compared to other cities in the Rust Belt, downtown Detroit feels much cleaner than Chicago, much more prosperous than Cleveland, and much better than St. Louis. As for Windsor on the other side of the river, it's just a pure rural area.
The hotel was formerly the Fort Shelby Hotel, which opened in 1918, and witnessed the development and prosperity of Detroit from 1920 to the mid-20th century, as well as the decline and decay after the Detroit riots in 1967.
The Fort Shelby Hotel changed hands several times and finally closed in 1974. It was not renovated until more than 30 years later in 2008, and reopened as a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel. Currently, part of the building is used as a hotel and part as an apartment.
The view from the guest room is the parking building behind the building, and you can see a little bit of the Detroit River, and across the river is Windsor, Canada.
In addition, you can see that the road behind is relatively bad. This area is only a few blocks away from the real downtown Campus Martius Park, but the infrastructure is very different.

You must visit the Detroit Institute of Arts, a hidden gem!
🏛 It was built in 1815 and is a world-class art museum! From the exterior to the atrium to the café, every corner is stunning! 😍
😱 When Detroit went bankrupt in 2013, they even considered selling it to pay off debts! Because it was the most valuable asset of the city government! 😅 Fortunately, the residents of the three wealthy counties around it were willing to support the museum with taxes, so these art collections were preserved intact! 👏
🎫 The regular ticket price is $18, and the student ticket is $10, which is really worth it! 😎
🌟 The museum's Western collections are amazing! There are Van Gogh's "Self-Portrait", Matisse's works, Picasso's works, and Rembrandt's works! 🤩
😲 Special mention to Diego Rivera's giant mural "Detroit Industry", which he spent a year creating in Detroit! Amazing! 👍
🎙 The museum is also very interactive, with explanations that are easy to understand and exciting! On the third floor, when displaying European aristocratic life, they even set up a table of delicious food, and the suckling pig made me hungry! 🤣
🎪 The first floor mainly features Asian and African exhibits, and the Egyptian mummies, emperor's dragon robes, and Persian reliefs are all quite beautiful! 😜
☕ You can check in at the café, and it's simply beautiful when the light and shadow are just right! 😻
🤗 We took 3 hours for a quick tour, and a whole day is no problem for a detailed visit! Come and check it out! 😘

This hotel is amazing!
From the moment I stepped into Sonder Gabriel Richard, I felt like I had entered a whole new world. Since its opening, this hotel in Detroit has won countless travelers' praise for its excellent service, and my stay this time made me like it even more.
The hotel's exterior design is simple yet stylish, complementing the charm of Detroit. As soon as I entered the lobby, the spacious space, luxurious decor, and warm lighting created a welcoming atmosphere. The front desk service was enthusiastic and attentive, and the check-in process was quick and smooth, making me feel very comfortable.
I booked a city view studio with a king bed. The room was simple and elegant, and every detail showed the designer's care. The bed was soft and comfortable, and the linens were clean and tidy, ensuring a good night's sleep. Standing by the window, overlooking the cityscape of Detroit, I felt a surge of emotion.
The hotel also offers a wide range of facilities, including high-speed Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a desk, and more, meeting my work and entertainment needs. In addition, I also tried the hotel's dining service, and the food was delicious, and the staff was friendly, making me feel at home.
During my stay, I also visited other public areas and the surrounding environment of the hotel. Every corner of the hotel is full of artistic atmosphere, whether it is the paintings in the corridor or the art installations in the lobby, they are all fascinating. The nearby attractions and restaurants are also within walking distance, which is very convenient.
My stay at Sonder Gabriel Richard was impressive. I was very satisfied with both the hotel's hardware facilities and service quality. Although there were some minor flaws, they did not affect the overall accommodation experience. I am sure that in the future, I will choose this place as my accommodation again.

A hotel worth returning to. It was really good and amazing.
The Fort Pontchartrain a Wyndham Hotel in Detroit is located in the city center, with a unique geographical location. This time, I had the opportunity to stay for a few nights due to work, and I was very satisfied with the overall experience.
As soon as I entered the hotel lobby, I felt a luxurious and modern atmosphere. The front desk service was quick and enthusiastic, which made me feel a little warm during the tiring journey. I booked a room in advance, so the check-in process was quite fast, with almost no waiting.
The room is typical American style, with simple but stylish decoration, spacious and bright. The bed was very comfortable, with a variety of pillow options to ensure a good night's sleep. The bathroom was also clean and tidy, with high-quality toiletries. The high-tech facilities in the room, such as flat-screen TVs and high-speed wireless internet, added extra convenience.
The hotel facilities are also very complete. The gym equipment is modern and meets my daily exercise needs. Although the indoor swimming pool is not large, it is well maintained and suitable for relaxation. In addition, the hotel also has a business center, which provides great convenience for business travelers like me.
In terms of location, the hotel is just a few steps away from the Cobo Center, and there are many shopping and dining places nearby. I tried a few nearby restaurants, and none of them disappointed, especially a local pizza place, which was very delicious.
What impressed me the most was the enthusiasm and hospitality of the staff and their professional attitude towards guests. From my arrival to departure, every staff member showed a high level of professionalism and helpfulness.
Overall, the Fort Pontchartrain a Wyndham Hotel provides a comfortable and convenient accommodation environment. Whether for business or travel, I highly recommend this hotel.

Great stay, will come again.
The hotel lobby is spacious and luxuriously decorated, creating a warm and high-end atmosphere. The front desk service is fast and efficient, and the staff are friendly and polite. The whole check-in process was very smooth. I booked an accessible one-bedroom king suite (with a walk-in shower), and the room was well-equipped, clean, and tidy.
The one-bedroom king suite has enough space, the bed is comfortable, and the linen is clean, ensuring a good night's sleep. The walk-in shower is very user-friendly, especially convenient for travelers with a lot of luggage. The room is also equipped with high-speed wireless internet, a flat-screen TV, and a desk, which met my office needs.
The hotel offers a variety of amenities, such as a restaurant, ATM, and luggage storage service, which is especially convenient for business travelers. In addition, there are multilingual services, which is a boon for foreign travelers.
Although the overall service experience is excellent, there are some minor flaws. For example, sometimes the service staff is not responsive enough, and there is a lack of staff to help with luggage. Although these details do not affect the overall accommodation experience, they are still areas for improvement.
The Fort Shelby Hotel in downtown Detroit - DoubleTree Suites by Hilton offers a comfortable stay. Whether it is the location, room comfort, or service quality, it left a deep impression on me. Despite some minor flaws, I would still choose to stay here again in the future.
