Longxing Temple, Pukou, Nanjing | A Quiet Ancient Temple with Few Visitors

🌳 Hidden in the heart of Laoshan in Pukou, Nanjing, lies an ancient temple forgotten by time—Longxing Temple. It lacks the bustling atmosphere of Jiming Temple and the fame of Qixia Temple, but it has its own unique tranquility and charm. 📍Longxing Temple was originally the site of the Ming Dynasty's Longdong Nunnery and was later restored by Master Yuanlin of Doushuai Temple. The temple buildings are arranged harmoniously, with yellow walls and black tiles, appearing especially rustic against the backdrop of green mountains and trees. Visitors are rare here on ordinary days, with only occasional pilgrims and hiking enthusiasts stopping by. Stepping into the temple, one can feel a peacefulness far removed from the secular world, as if time itself slows down. 🌟The most notable feature of the temple is the two century-old ginkgo trees behind the main hall. They are sturdy and upright, with lush branches and leaves. Every autumn, their golden foliage becomes the most beautiful scenery in the temple. Unfortunately, when I visited yesterday, the ginkgo leaves had already fallen, missing the splendid sight of golden trees, which was a bit of a regret. However, the thick layer of yellow leaves on the ground has its own poetic charm, as if nature has laid a golden carpet for the ancient temple. 🚗For transportation, it is recommended to drive yourself. Nearby attractions include Laoshan National Forest Park and Lanxi Valley, which can be visited together.
