Huapiling: A great place to enjoy the snow in Beijing in winter!

❄ Huapiling Scenic Area is located in the Dama Mountains, the remaining veins of the Yanshan Mountains. It is named after the thousands of acres of birch forest on its shady slope. It is located at the junction of Chongli and Zhangbei, 30 km from Chongli County. Its main peak is 2,128.7 meters above sea level and is known as the "Son of Tianshan." It is the highest peak in the surrounding areas of Bashang and Inner Mongolia, and is famous in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, and Inner Mongolia. · ❄ Huapiling has typical European mountain sightseeing resources. The lowest temperature in winter can reach -30°C, with snow lasting for 4-5 months and an average annual snowfall of 64 mm. It is said that "the coldest place in the world is Huapiling." The endless meadows of Huapiling are covered with snow, turning into a vast forest, which is spectacular. · ♦️Transportation Information 🔺Self-driving (not open in winter) 🔺Huapiling Scenic Area is the starting point of the eastern section of the Grassland Sky Road, and you can drive to the Grassland Sky Road to play. ♦️Hiking: Due to the heavy snow in winter, the self-driving route is not open. If you want to enjoy the winter scenery, you can only drive to the parking lot and then hike. ‼️Note: There are no supplies or toilets on the way, so be prepared before you go. · ♦️Route: 🔺Navigate to the 11th Liang Exit of the Grassland Sky Road in Chongli District, and hike up the mountain to the top and end at Chengzidi. ♦️Hiking distance: 8 km in total, 400 m ascent, 450 m descent. · ♦️Recommended equipment: Hiking shoes, quick-drying clothes, windbreaker, down jacket, headscarf, hat, gloves, crampons; power bank, simple medicine, garbage bags, etc. · ♦️Notes: 🔺The snow is thick on the ascent and descent, so it is easy to slip and sprain your ankle. Don't take photos while walking, and don't look at the scenery while walking. Be careful of hidden stones under the snow. 🔺Keep warm, wear a down jacket, hat, gloves, and face mask. 🔺Protect nature, don't litter, and take all your trash with you.
