Wuhan · Gude Temple

Located at No. 74, Huangpu Road, Hankou, Wuhan, Hubei, Gude Temple was founded by Longxi in the third year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1877). It was originally named Gude Maopeng. Between 1914 and 1919, it was expanded twice by the abbot Changhong and renamed Gude Temple. The temple combines features of Eurasian religious architecture, integrating the three major Buddhist sects: Mahayana, Theravada, and Tibetan Buddhism. This is rare among Han Chinese Buddhist temples, making it a "major wonder of Buddhist holy sites" and "the most remarkable sight among Han Chinese Buddhist temples." Turn right after exiting, and Gude Temple is right across the street, very close. We parked for about an hour, costing 2 RMB.
