Tianshui Fuxi Temple

Tianshui Fuxi Temple, originally named Taihao Palace and commonly known as Renzong Temple, is located at No. 110 Fuxi Road, Qinzhou District, Tianshui City, Gansu Province. It is one of the famous ancient architectural complexes in Northwest China. It was first built during the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty, more than 500 years ago. It is the largest Fuxi sacrificial architectural complex in China, a national key cultural relic protection unit, a 4A-level tourist attraction, and a sacred place for global Chinese to worship their ancestors. It is known as the "First Temple of China." The Fuxi Temple has four courtyards, spacious and deep, with structures such as the opera stage, archway, palace gate, ceremonial gate, Xiantian Hall, and Taiji Hall. It enshrines a giant painted clay statue of Fuxi from the Ming Dynasty and displays his life and contributions, including the Xiantian Bagua, marriage system, and the invention of fishing nets and characters. The Fuxi Temple also holds grand public sacrificial ceremonies for Fuxi, which not only promote Fuxi culture but also contribute to the inheritance and development of Chinese culture.
