🏔Attraction introduction: The landmark Xuanzang Pagoda and Wenfeng Pagoda are located at the highest point of Shuangta Temple. Both are 13-story towers with octagonal structures and are about 54 meters high. The twin towers are vigorous and inclusive, making them a symbol of the beautiful city of Taiyuan. They are also the most complete, largest, and tallest pair of brick towers in China. 📝Travel tips: There are many people during holidays, and there are restrictions on the number of visitors at 16:00! The Xuanzang Pagoda is open to the 11th floor, but I gave up after waiting in line for an hour. Xuanzang Pagoda: Built later, sponsored by Empress Dowager Li, the mother of Emperor Shenzong of the Ming Dynasty, and built by Master Miaofeng of Mount Wutai. The outline of the Xuanzang Pagoda is streamlined, with obvious divisions above the seventh floor, and decorated with glazed edges. It is majestic and magnificent (open to visitors). Wenfeng Pagoda: Built first, the tower body is made of blue bricks, with exquisite craftsmanship and a simple and elegant style. Ming Dynasty students would come here to worship for success in the imperial examination. The third hall, the Mahavira Hall (beamless hall): The final work of Master Miaofeng of Mount Wutai, a brick imitation of wooden structures, built in the Ming Dynasty. Peony Garden: "Zixiaxian" is the only Ming Dynasty peony discovered so far in China and is the oldest "temple peony" in existence.
