When TAIWAN is cheaper than BKK, you go!

Taiwan just fully opened up last month and Singaporeans WERE NOT PREPARED. Tickets to BKK went all the way to over 700 SGD on budget airlines such as Scoot and Air Asia. I was not going to pay such an exorbitant price for BKK, when Starlux Airlines was offering a full service return trip to Taipei for UNDER 400 SGD (selected dates, cheapest I’ve seen was 360+)!!! Look at that salivating Hutong beef bento offered on board, and signature cocktails to pair with the meal? Hell yea! But is Taiwan worth it for a 4D3N trip? Isn’t it too short? One might ask? Definitely Taiwan should be a lengthy trip, but with cheap air tickets and boutique hotels in the heart of the city at 50 SGD, I say #yolo !!! For a short trip, it is advisable to stay within Taipei, where you can spend the nights roaming the many night markets such as Raohe, Shihlin and Ningxia. Loads of food and you will never go hungry! Days can be spent visiting famous spots such as Jiufen, Shifen, take a trip up to Xiang Shan for a scenic view of Taipei 101. Personally, I took a cable car ride up MaoKong for tea and probably the best pork katsu curry I’ve had in my life. And with the new Taipei Airport Rail which will bring you to Taipei Main Station in under 40 minutes at 6 SGD plus amazing trains connecting you to major tourists spots… why beat BANGKOK JAM when you can rock and roll in TAIWAN??
