Rongjin Time Living Park

Rongjin Time Living Park is located next to the southern wall ruins of Taipei Prison. It utilizes the former official residences of the Taipei Penitentiary, creating a Japanese-style dormitory area. The atmosphere is enhanced by rows of old trees and wooden bungalows, making it a great place to stroll and explore. Many cultural shops have moved in, and there are often markets on weekends. The official residences of the Taipei Penitentiary were originally the homes of prison staff during the Japanese era. After the Nationalist government moved to Taiwan, they became dormitories for civil servants and military personnel who relocated with the government. After Taipei Prison moved in 1963, the vacant dormitories became a settlement for a large number of urban and rural migrants, later known as Huaguang Community. Locals refer to this area as the Prison Gate. It's a great area for photography, dining, and leisure. Highly recommended.
