Tainan - Mr. & Mrs. Coffee House in the Alley: A Japanese-style Vintage Café

Located in an alley on Hai'an Road, Section 3, this café exudes a Showa-era Japanese atmosphere. The exterior features iron window grilles with Japanese bamboo blinds, and the interior is filled with dark wooden furniture, green leather sofas, and terrazzo flooring, creating a quaint and serene ambiance. The coffee house, popular among the artsy crowd, has moved from the East District to the North District of Tainan, and its style has changed slightly. It seems to be run by a couple, hence the name 'He & She,' reminiscent of 'Mr. & Mrs.' The space inside is not large, but it's quite comfortable. As usual, I ordered an iced Americano served in a vintage Suntory whiskey glass, with a faux silver base, handle, and tray that match perfectly. In addition to coffee and desserts, the café also offers light meals such as toast and sandwiches, which seem to be quite popular. Plus, they open early at 9 am, making it a great spot for brunch.
