Can’t beat The Medina, Sousse, Tunisia

After escaping the other worldly compound of the all-inclusive hotel I highly recommend staying in the old town, the Medina of any city or town, for a dash of the more authentic side of Tunisia. The walls surrounding the Mosque may get more crowded and appear overwhelming but step right up, it’s the place to go. Medina in Sousse Tunisia A trip back in time, first thing that hits you is the multitude of sounds, it’s where locals shop among tourists, and other than mopeds, the web of lanes and alleys are nicely noisy, with a new sight or shout at every turn. Stop pause and listen to the call to prayer mixes with the call to come and look! Food becomes a far more fun feast with a coffee and panini.,fruit smoothies or all types of street vendors offering easily tempting and importantly mot a rip off price like European cities. Ponder your purchases among the hustle and bustle of the market kids singing, radios, rumbling carts, with modern looking women, kids playing, men chattering along a multitude of lovely leather, fab sportswear, jewellery, vegetables market. Don’t be shy to barter as the friendliness and enthusiasm of the sellers is genuine joy to have tourists back is reflected in the deals and fun to be had. These traders are way more grateful than any shop here in the UK and end up like a personal shopper! It works both ways. They need the money, you get a bargain. In fact. Don’t even bother bringing much in your suitcase, it’s all here. Two pairs of latest trainers, tracksuit, hoodie and leather handbag set with stuffed camels for the kids later I left happy. #tunisia #medinahotel #cityview #rooftop
