Peranakan Shophouse

If you are looking for a change of environment from the busy urban Singapore scenes, you must check out Joo Chiat Road. Admire the old Peranakan architecture, the detail! Also take note of the vintage signs and mailboxes they still use. Take your time and explore the shops; you can find quirky little things and antiques, even dog spas. Check out the Peranakan shops / mini-museum as well, and get yourself a traditional piece as souvenir. Peranakan architecture, shop front houses, street shopping, Baba museums and shops along East coast road. Peranakan house Museum though is only open to groups of 5 at $20 per head.
