Shenzhen Xichong Observatory | A spontaneous sunrise over the mountains and sea

Shenzhen Xichong Observatory covers an area of 29,700 square meters. Its main buildings include the Astronomy Building, Meteorology Building, and Comprehensive Building. The observatory was completed in 2010 and is a comprehensive observation base integrating astronomical observation, meteorological observation, marine observation, academic research, and science education. It is a great place for Shenzhen residents to spend the weekend outdoors. 🚉Transportation guide: 1. Self-driving 1. Search for "Shenzhen Observatory" or "Xichong Beach Entrance 4" on your navigation app. 2. After arriving at Xichong Beach Entrance 4, park your car at the South Gate Parking Lot. 3. Choose to walk or take a shuttle bus to the observatory. It takes about half an hour to walk up the mountain. The route is a winding mountain road with many turns, so be careful if you choose to walk. 2. Public transportation 1. Take Bus E11 to Dapeng Central Station, then transfer to Bus M232 and get off at Hesou Village Station. 2. Search for "Xichong Beach Entrance 4" on your navigation app, then walk for about 30 minutes to Xichong Beach Entrance 4. 3. Then walk or take a shuttle bus up the mountain to the observatory. 🎈Shuttle bus information Boarding point: Xichong South Gate Beach. Drop-off point: Shenzhen Observatory P1 Parking Lot. Operating hours: 9:00–18:00. Departure interval: 9:00–12:00, 14:30–17:30, departs every 15 minutes or when full. We arrived by car at 5:30 am, but you can also stay at a nearby homestay the night before. Buy a ticket at Entrance 1 of the beach. 2. The top of the observatory mountain. From Entrance 4 of the beach, it takes about half an hour to walk along the winding mountain road to the top of the observatory mountain. You cannot enter the observatory without a reservation or a guide. You can walk along the mountain road next to the radar station to the hillside to watch the sunrise.
