Foodie diary 3: Shanghai’s extravaganza

Pipaman Zhichi Gusu restaurant in Wujiaochang is one of my favorites for Chinese food. Gastronomy offered transports you around different regions of China, with a very traditional ambience and the great option of enjoying your dinner inside a “ship”. Each dish is presented with a particular esthetic, some of them are as delicious as they look. My favorite by far, and the reason why I frequently visit this restaurant, is the matcha jelly dish. The sour jelly mixed with that sweet black sauce makes my mouth to water just by thinking in it. Haven’t found this dish anywhere else. I have been told is part of Shanghai’s local cuisine. The start-looking noodles have great flavor, and look so cute! Likewise, the fermented rice drink is quite special. Reminds me of the ‘chicha’ fermented drinks you can get in Latin America.
