Just inside the Inner Ring | A weekend to enjoy Shanghai's sea of ginkgo leaves

With the arrival of December, Shanghai's ginkgo trees have fully entered their golden viewing period. Combined with recent weather changes, this weekend will be the best time to check out the major ginkgo scenic spots. Don't want to go to the suburbs? Want convenient transportation? Here's a ginkgo viewing gift inside the Inner Ring from the blogger's family experience: P2-P2: Located on Yan'an East Road at the Bund, you can also reach the ginkgo trees at Gucheng Park near Yuyuan by biking 10 minutes south. P4-P6: Holy Trinity Church, where the ginkgo trees are among the latest in Shanghai to turn and are currently at their best. You can also take the hotel elevator in the building opposite to the 10th-floor front desk to capture a bird’s-eye view. P7-P9: Shanghai Concert Hall, located just east of Yan'an Middle Road green space, where you can enjoy the ginkgo along with the red maples in the park. P10-P13: Huangjin Chengdao, arguably Shanghai’s most popular ginkgo street. However, due to sunlight being blocked by residential buildings on the south side, it’s best to visit at noon. P14-P15: Shanghai Jumen Road, also one of Shanghai’s hottest ginkgo streets. P16-P18: Shanghai Zhenru Temple, which has two century-old ginkgo trees in its courtyard that are now in their viewing period. In addition, there are popular ginkgo spots at Longhua Temple, Ruijin Hotel, Expo Park, Century Park, and other attractions. The golden beauty of autumn is short-lived, so take advantage of the weekend to go out and enjoy the fall with friends and family.
