Shanghai is one of my favourite cities in China, and after living there for a few months I thought I’d put together a list of my favourite places to give you some inspiration for your trip ✨ 🐉 Classic Tourist activities: - [ ] Yu Yuan Garden - [ ] Shanghai Tower - [ ] Jing’an Temple - [ ] Tianzifang for quaint neighbourhood exploring 👀 - [ ] Visit the French concession - [ ] Walk along the Bund area for the classic Shanghai skyline shots 📸 - [ ] Check out East Nanjing / West Nanjing Road for shopping 🛍️ ☕️ Vibey neighbourhoods to explore: - [ ] French concession - [ ] Xintiandi in Xu Hui (great restaurants and cafes here) - [ ] Jing'an neighbourhood (more bars here) 🍴 Where to eat: - [ ] Jin Xuan – fine dining Chinese restaurant in the Ritz Carlton - [ ] Canton Disco in The Edition hotel – Hong Kong cuisine 👌🏻 - [ ] Cottons – a chilled-out restaurant in the garden of an old villa in the French concession. They often have live music etc. Western food. Good for lunch. - [ ] Bull & Claw - a similar vibe to Cottons. In the French concesh. Western food. Great for boozy brunch 🥂 - [ ] Vesta – in the French concession, gorgeous surrounding. - [ ] YuanYuan - traditional shanghainese food 🍲 - [ ] Polux- French restaurant 🇫🇷 in XinTianDi in Xu Hui 🪩 Nice rooftop bars / restaurants that overlook the bund: - [ ] Sir Ellys in the Peninsula Hotel - [ ] Sky bar of the Roosevelt - [ ] W Hotel Pool Bar - great views at night 🕺 - [ ] POP on the Bund - [ ] Bar Rouge 💋 - [ ] The Captain Rooftop - more chilled vibes 🤙🏻 🍻 Bar areas: - [ ] Wuding Road - a chilled bar street, lots of expats frequent here. - [ ] Fumin street - Funkadeli is popular, and Chicken and Egg 🥚 - [ ] Found 158 - a converted underground car park that’s been converted into an open air bar area with multiple bars / clubs #shanghai #thebund #wudingroad #fuminstreet #tianzifang #frenchconcession #jinxuan #xintiandi #shanghaitower #whotelshanghai
