Hokkaido Travel Guide: Sapporo Snow Festival Tips

The 2024 Snow Festival will be held from February 4th to February 11th. Although it's a bit late, I decided to write about it since the Odori and Susukino venues are at the same location every year. This guide can also be useful for those planning to visit next year. Pages 2-3 cover the exhibition areas of the Odori and Susukino venues and nearby subway stations. Page 42 outlines our route for today! To avoid retracing our steps, we start from Sapporo Station, take the Namboku Line to Odori Station, then transfer to the Tozai Line to Nishi-Juitchome Station. From there, we head east to explore the snow festival towards Odori Station, then south through Tanukikoji for some shopping and dining, and finally to the Susukino venue (as shown by the green dotted line). We return to Sapporo Station via the Namboku Line. Pages 5-8 feature the snow sculptures at the Odori venue, which are massive and impressive.
