Vibrant & Colorful - Wat Chalong

This one is a must visit for a clear, sunny day. The temple grounds are pristine, and the air is occasionally filled with that temple incense we all (okay fine, some of us) love and appreciate. To experience those sweet aromas be prepared to first duck in horror from the random blast of fire crackers from which said fumes exude. “Horror” of course is an exaggeration, but with great colorful temples, comes… great colorful writing? Visit the place, experience what I’m talking about… Someone did duck though. None of this is to say the grounds aren’t peaceful, they are, you’ll even see a cat or two basking in the sun, yawning. It’s a nice place: beautiful from the inside-out. To enter the temple take off your shoes, lower your voices, and of course be mindful of those who are there to pray.
