A French-style town hidden in the mountains

In Pengzhou, north of Chengdu, there is a French-style music town hidden in the mountains—Bailu. The entire district exudes French charm. This place was originally a historic town. Over a hundred years ago, French missionaries came here, built a church, and founded a school. They also constructed a stone arch bridge. Later, the Wenchuan earthquake caused significant damage to the area. During the post-disaster reconstruction, to honor Sino-French friendship, this scenic street was created. There are many hotels, inns, and various restaurants on the street. There is also a square where music performances are sometimes held. Now, beyond the town, there are still earthquake relics. There is also the Sino-French Friendship Bridge, which has been half-destroyed. Located in the mountains, the area has fresh air and a stream, making it an ideal vacation spot with no admission fee. It is about 30 kilometers from Chongzhou city center, and you can get there in less than an hour.
