Bethesda Terrace @ Central Park

#usatravel #newyork We followed John Wick to Bethesda Terrace, one of the most iconic and beautiful landmarks in Central Park, New York City. Located at the end of the Mall, the grand promenade in the center of the park, Bethesda Terrace offers stunning architectural features and serves as a gathering place for visitors. Bethesda Terrace was designed by Calvert Vaux and Frederick Law Olmsted, the same team behind the overall design of Central Park. The terrace consists of two levels connected by grand staircases. The upper level provides a scenic overlook, while the lower level leads directly to Bethesda Fountain. At the center of the lower level is the Angel of the Waters statue, designed by sculptor Emma Stebbins. The statue represents purity and the healing power of water. The overall atmosphere was incredibly lively and vibrant. People come to this spot to enjoy the beauty of the architecture and the serene environment, enhanced by the greenery of the trees in Central Park, which is often referred to as the 'lungs of the city' or the 'green lung of Manhattan'. We had a wonderful time at Central Park and look forward to visiting again the next time we are in New York.
