A Foggy Day in the UK

After taking the cross-channel train from France to the UK, more than half a day had already passed. By the time I arrived at the hotel, it was already around two or three in the afternoon. After dropping off my luggage, I quickly set out to explore the city. (Transportation in the UK is very convenient; you can use a credit card to ride buses and the subway.) First, I took a quick walk around the train station to see Harry Potter's Platform 9¾ and to get familiar with the surroundings. Next, I headed to the legendary Tower Bridge. In the fog, the London Bridge seemed to have a mysterious veil, making my first sight of it incredibly awe-inspiring. The weather in London is indeed as people say, unpredictable. Sometimes the fog is so thick that everything is shrouded in a haze; other times, it pours rain accompanied by cold winds, as if trying to blow people away. This is exactly the impression I had of the UK—a mysterious and ever-changing place. Although such weather can be somewhat inconvenient, it adds a touch of romance and poetry to the journey.
