London's Splendor | Beautiful but lacking in detail

London's Splendor was the third hotel we stayed at during our trip to London, and my first impression of this hotel was that it was very beautiful; blackpink also stayed here when they visited London. The hotel exudes a sense of ceremony right from the entrance, from the main door to the inner courtyard garden, and then to the hotel itself, which feels a bit like the Shanghai Capella, although London's Splendor is much larger in scale. However, after staying for four nights, the overall experience felt rather superficial. Firstly, such a grand hotel has no swimming pool, and the public areas are not heated. We visited during London's coldest period, so we had to put on our coats as soon as we left our room. Another point is that due to the high occupancy rate of the hotel, the lobby was always overcrowded and quite cramped. 📍: The location is on High Holborn Street, close to Covent Garden and the British Museum, with the Holborn subway station being super convenient, just a 3-minute walk away. There's also a supermarket next to the hotel. 🛏️: We stayed in a family room, which is suitable for families with children (even with two kids), the room is not big, but it's designed to be bright. The design and color scheme of the bathroom are somewhat similar to the Hong Kong Splendor, and they also provide chocolates during the turndown service at night. 🍴: Our breakfast was arranged in the Mirror located in the inner courtyard garden. It was an à la carte service with a nice environment, but the choices were limited and the taste was average. 💁: Luxury hotels are all about service, and perhaps due to the large size and number of guests, there seemed to be not enough staff and insufficient training. There was even no one to help with luggage, which was a stark contrast to our previous stay at The Langham. Splendor has always been a brand I really like, and I hope the soon-to-open Mayfair Splendor will be better.
