An iconic spot in Lille

I am so impressed by the architecture during my trip to France. Be it the cathedrals or squares or even older buildings that have turned into something. Like in the case of La Vielle Bourse. What a beautiful building. A perfect example of gorgeous Flemish architecture. And if that wasn't a reason enough, what a fine vibe around this place! It's fascinating to see people with an interest in books. The area around has got plenty of coffee shops, retail outlets and a lively atmosphere. There is a market inside the building which i explored. It sells old books and vintage records. Very picturesque spot. I'm told it was even the stock exchange back in the days and so it has a symbolic importance to the history of Lille. There were people playing chess, friendly locals who spoke to me and told me so much about Lille. I even got invited for a meal. Such a place cannot be missed. Plus it's all free!
