#malaysiatrip With a history spanning the late 19th century, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building is unquestionably one of Malaysia's most notable and beloved heritage structures as well as a significant historical landmark. The building was named after the sultan of Selangor who was in power at the time it was inaugurated in 1897 and is located in Kuala Lumpur, directly across from Dataran Merdeka (Independence Square). If you love architecture, this is one of the best place you should visit. Getting There - It took about 6-15 minutes of driving (depending on the traffic flow) and approximately 2.7KM from KL Sentral. Attractions - Built with red bricks, the structure features three towers that define it's architecture. Tall white arches, a grand porch, curved colonnades, two domes and a commanding 41.2 meter clock tower to complete the building's visual appeal. Hotels - There are few hotels around the SAS building. Food & Restaurants - Many street food and restaurants can be found nearby this area.
