Sawara Onogawa One-Day Trip: Recommended Attractions in Chiba

Sawara Station is a historic train station. The JR Narita Line has trains running between Sawara and Narita about once an hour. The infrequent schedule and fewer tourists allowed me to leisurely enjoy the slow-paced life in the water town of Sawara during the summer. It was wonderful! I highly recommend visiting Onogawa. Besides walking along Onogawa, another way to enjoy it is by taking a sightseeing boat. The cost is ¥1300 per person, and the boat ride lasts about 30 minutes. Each boat has a boatman, and passengers need to wear life jackets. You can enjoy the scenery along both banks of Onogawa and occasionally pass under bridges, where the boatman will remind passengers to duck their heads. It's quite interesting.
