Xiang Lake, the sister lake of West Lake

Xiang Lake Scenic Area is located in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou. It is a tourist destination that combines natural scenery and historical culture. With its vast waters, surrounding mountains, and beautiful scenery, it is known as the "sister lake" of West Lake. The best part is that it is not as noisy as West Lake, and the tranquil scenery makes for great photos. Xiang Lake has 108 bridges built in the style of Jiangnan water towns, and is known as the first "real-life" Jiangnan Bridge Museum. Xiang Lake is the birthplace of Zhejiang civilization, and the world's earliest canoe (8,000 years old) was unearthed here. It is truly a lake that cannot be judged by its appearance. The ruins of the Yue King City on the top of Xiang Lake City Mountain are the best-preserved ancient city wall ruins to date, witnessing the historical events of "sleeping on brushwood and tasting gall." Xiang Lake is the hometown of the Tang Dynasty poet He Zhizhang, and famous figures such as Li Bai, Lu You, Wen Tianxiang, and Liu Ji have left immortal poems here. Take a stroll along the lakeside trail and admire the clear lake water and the fiery red cedar forest; or climb to the top of Yue King City Mountain for a panoramic view of Xiang Lake and feel the weight of history.
