Having been in Hangzhou for 10 years, I love to wander around in March and April, sharing 5 local-recommended spring flower viewing and city stroll routes🗺, perfect for friends traveling to Hangzhou in spring✅. 1⃣ West Lake Secret Walk 🚶Walking: 3km ⌚Time: 3 hours 🌷Best viewing period: Early March - Late March 🗺Route: Maojiabu—Former Residence of Du Jinsheng—West Lake State Guesthouse—Turtle Pool—Bathing Phoenix Bay 💡Features: The backyard of West Lake, very quiet, a paradise for individuals. February orchids and cherry blossoms can be seen everywhere, and you can also check in at the State Guesthouse to see the magnolia king. 2⃣ Cultural Canal Walk 🚶Walking: 4km ⌚Time: 3.5 hours 🌷Best viewing period: Mid-April - May 🗺Route: Gongchen Bridge—West of the Bridge Historical District—Xiaohe Park—Xiaohe Straight Street 💡Features: This route has witnessed the history of the Grand Canal from Beijing to Hangzhou, with pink walls and black tiles of the old riverside houses, roses blooming in April, very much in the style of the Jiangnan region. 3⃣ Flower World Walk 🚶Walking: 3.5km ⌚Time: 3 hours 🌷Best viewing period: Late April - Early May 🗺Route: Baima Lake Park—Intersection of Tangyan Road and Huantang Road Flower Sea—Xianghu Crossing 💡Features: Roses, cornflowers, and poppies, the flower fields here are vast, and finally, you can have a meal in the "Little Wuzhen" Xianghu Crossing. 4⃣ Monet Garden Walk 🚶Walking: 5km ⌚Time: 3.5 hours 🌷Best viewing period: Mid-March - Early April 🗺Route: Xizi Hotel—Jingci Temple—Prince Bay Park—Jiuyao Mountain 💡Features: The must-visit Prince Bay Park in Hangzhou, resembling Monet's garden, plus walking along the Xizi Hotel lakeside line, you can monopolize the entire West Lake and cherry blossoms, and finally, you can overlook Bathing Phoenix Bay from Jiuyao Mountain. 5⃣ Flowing Water and Falling Flowers Walk 🚶Walking: 4km ⌚Time: 2.5 hours 🌷Best viewing period: Mid-March - Early April 🗺Route: Botanical Garden Bamboo Plant Area—Mulanshan Tea Garden—Yunsong Book Residence—Tea Museum 💡Features: A quiet and lesser-known flower viewing route, passing through the babbling bamboo forest, you can enjoy camellias, cherry blossoms, and snow willows all the way, very healing.
