Various wild animals photographed in Daocheng Yading. Himalayan blue sheep, Tibetan macaques, rock squirrels, orange-winged laughingthrushes, red-browed finches, and brown-capped tits. I was so excited to see squirrels in Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong that I kept snapping photos, but here, wild animals are so abundant it's almost overwhelming. Birds and squirrels compete for food and even climb onto visitors looking for snacks, but when the monkeys arrive, they scare them all away. The monkeys here have short tails and black hair on their cheeks. You’re lucky they haven’t dared to attack visitors like those at Mount Emei, but they have already shredded the shop signs to pieces. This morning, I even encountered a monkey with an injured front limb on a short walk. All these photos were taken with my 24-70mm lens; even at 70mm, the animals were so close it shows how unafraid they are of people. They came right up to me—if I didn’t take photos, it would be rude.
