Day 7 and 8 of the Yading Grand Circuit: Easy and Lucky

11.12 Snake Lake Tail Camp to Kas Cattle Shed Camp, distance 10km, ascent 450m, descent 500m. ㅤ Woke up in the morning with fog overhead. A bit worried about the weather. But after checking with the drone, just 200 meters above was a sea of clouds, and the fog would clear soon. ㅤ Today was a relatively easy day. Crossed Snake Lake and was lucky to encounter many wild blue sheep along the way. After crossing Songdu Pass, traveled light to the scenic Milk Sea but didn’t go all the way down because the wind was too strong and cold. Took some photos above Milk Sea, sent messages to family, then returned to the pass to pick up the pack and immediately pushed forward, arriving at the camp by 4 PM. In the evening, enjoyed a feast by joining another team’s meal at the camp—awesome. ㅤ 11.13 Kas Cattle Shed Camp to Chonggu Temple, distance 11km, ascent 650m, descent 1150m. ㅤ Last night the tent was heavily dewed, and a layer of ice formed on the sleeping bag. Dried the tent and sleeping bag for a long time, setting off close to 11 AM. Like yesterday, after the sun rose, it turned into a bright sunny day. Descended from Kas Cattle Shed, then before heading to the upper pass, came across a platform facing the snow-capped mountains above Songdu Pass. Spent a long time photographing there. Really liked the scenery at this spot. ㅤ Before the upper pass, met up with a teammate for the day—a brother from Beijing. He said he waited here specially for me and to dry his tent. We chatted all the way while crossing the pass. The famous Songluo Pass, with prayer flags hanging through the tunnel. After the snow, many prayer flags had disappeared, but it was still quite beautiful. Arrived at the scenic area before 6 PM, said goodbye to the brother before boarding the bus. He said if I ever go to Beijing, I should definitely look him up.
