Wat Chedi Luang | A sacred place in the center of Chiang Mai Old City.

Wat Chedi Luang, also known as the Great Stupa Temple, dates back to the mid-15th century. The stupa in the temple was once the tallest building in Chiang Mai (now partially damaged), and the entire temple was built around the stupa. The jade Buddha, now enshrined in Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok, was once placed in the niche on the east side of Wat Chedi Luang.
