Chiang Chom Temple (Chimney Chedi Temple)

Wat Chiang Chom or Wat Chedi Plong is an ancient beautiful temple in Chiang Mai. Chedi Plong means a niche for enshrining the Buddha image around the chedi. Wat Chedi Plong is named after the shape of the chedi. Currently, only one chedi is left. The highlight of this temple is the chimney-shaped chedi, an architecture that is assumed to have been partially influenced by China, or what is called "Tha". There are 3 temples in Chiang Mai: Chedi Wat Ram Poeng, Chedi Wat Phuk Hong, and Chedi Wat Chiang Chom. Wat Chedi Plong has been renovated and a Buddha image was created as the principal Buddha image in the chapel by Phra Thep Wachi Thachan, Deputy Chief of the Chiang Mai Province Sangha and Abbot of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Ratchaworawihan. Wat Chedi Plong is a clean and shady temple, very suitable for making merit and worshiping the Buddha. The temple is not very big. You can park your car in the temple. Wat Chedi Plong is located on Soi Chedi Plong, Pracha Uthit Road, Chang Phueak Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province.
