Zhongshan Park Celebrates 110th Anniversary with New Exhibition

🎈 Beijing's Zhongshan Park is celebrating its 110th anniversary with a new exhibition. 🎈🎈 In 1914, the Kyoto Municipal Office launched the "Park Opening Movement." With the support of Zhu Qiling, Minister of the Interior of the Beiyang Government, the Altar of Land and Grain became the first park opened by the Republic of China government, initially named Central Park. People from all walks of life responded to the call of the Municipal Office, strongly supported the construction of the park, and enthusiastically donated money and materials to complete the initial construction of the park. 🎈🎈🎈 During the Republic of China, Zhongshan Park played multiple roles in the lives of Beijing citizens. It drew on the experience of foreign public gardens and became the most attractive public cultural, leisure, and fitness venue. In the then-fashionable Zhongshan Park, citizens had a very rich park experience. 🎈🎈🎈🎈 After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zhongshan Park provided a beautiful environment for citizens to rest and visit, cultivating chrysanthemums, peonies, peonies, dahlias, and other flowers, becoming a popular place to view flowers in Beijing. In 1959, at the direction of Chairman Zhu De, Zhongshan Park purchased a batch of orchids from Shanghai and invited orchid growers Zhu Zhangfu to teach orchid planting techniques, achieving a historic breakthrough in "nurturing southern orchids in the north" and cultivating a group of flower growers. The "Orchid Room" written by Comrade Zhu De and the orchid pots he gave to Zhongshan Park are on display in the exhibition. 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈 In 1992, Zhongshan Park held the "Northern Wonder" Ice Lantern Exhibition and Suzhou Lantern Art Exhibition.
