Ritz-Carlton Reserve is a high-end custom series of Ritz-Carlton hotels. There are only seven in the world, and Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Ubud, Bali, which opened in 2015, is the third Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the world. The hotel is located in the cultural and spiritual center of Bali: Ubud, in a pristine village, nestled among magnificent temples, with endless rice fields and the majestic Ayung River behind it, giving people a sensory feast of self-cultivation and closeness to nature. The name Mandapa means temple in Sanskrit, and the name alone suggests that the hotel as a whole chooses to present a sacred and ethereal atmosphere in this Zen residence hidden deep in the Ubud terraces. The hotel is only a 10-minute drive from the city center, and the famous Tirta Empul Temple is only a 15-minute drive away. I stayed in the Mandapa Suite, where the interior decoration is not only inspired by nature, but also uses sustainable and environmentally friendly building materials, all made from various natural materials from the local area. The designer also incorporates the theme of self-cultivation and closeness to nature throughout the design, not only the architecture is perfectly integrated with the surrounding natural environment, but also the suite interior can be opened to a window to get closer to the tropical natural landscape of Bali. Such a vacation atmosphere is really great!
