Four days is ideal to see the city from all sides: the skyscrapers of the future, ancient streets, the coziness of the French quarters, and even the "Venice of Shanghai." 🏙 DAY 1 — Modern Shanghai A restaurant with a view — the panorama will take your breath away (for example, in the opening tower of the Shanghai World Financial Center - 100 Century Avenue on the 91st floor). Pedestrian area in Pudong (Lujiazui metro station) — stroll between the towers along the pedestrian area (a long walkway over the roads). 🚇 Option: you can cross to the embankment side through a lighted tunnel under the river — a quick and unusual way to get to the other side, but generally quite simple. It's not worth a special trip. You can also cross to the other side from the embankment through the tunnel; the entrance is here. An evening on The Bund offers that iconic view of Pudong's skyscrapers. It's best to arrive at sunset—the city lights up with hundreds of lights ✨ Nanjing Road—end the day with a stroll and shopping along one of China's most famous streets. The city is especially vibrant at night. 🏮 DAY 2 — History and Atmosphere Yu Garden—manicured gardens, bridges, ponds, and pavilions. Old Town—teahouses, temples, antiques, and street food. The true soul of Shanghai. Xintiandi French Quarter—green alleys, cozy cafes, and a European atmosphere in the heart of China. Old Town in the evening—return to the illuminated streets and lanterns. It's especially beautiful in the evening. 🛶 DAY 3 — Shanghai Venice Zhujiajiao Water Town An ancient water town about an hour from the city center. 📍 How to get there: Take Metro Line 17 to Zhujiajiao Station, a 15-minute walk or ride a small tricycle. 💡 Boat ride, Bei Dajie North Street, Fangsheng Bridge, the wooden Lan Bridge, Kezhi Garden, teahouses, and ancient houses. 🛍 DAY 4 — Shopping and Wrap-Up Nanjing Road / IFC Mall / Xintiandi Style Mall are great places for final shopping. And on your last day, you can still visit what you missed on the previous days, especially the first, as the first day is usually incomplete. 🏨 Where to stay We stayed at the Yitel Premium Hotel in the Pudong area, a 2-minute walk from the Yuanshen Road metro station. Overall, the metro was convenient for getting to the main attractions (3-4 stops away on a direct line). However, we mostly took taxis, as they're cheap here through the Didi app (we used Alipay). The Huangpu area is also convenient, as the main attractions are located there. However, we booked our hotel late (on the day of our arrival), and we couldn't find any suitable options near the attractions.
