My visit to Ljubljana Castle in Slovenia was an enchanting experience that offered a perfect blend of history and modernity. Perched on a hill overlooking the charming city of Ljubljana, this castle is a true symbol of the capital.
Exploring the castle's well-preserved medieval architecture and exhibits was a journey through time. The castle's interactive museum displays and the iconic dragon motif of Ljubljana left a lasting impression.
The highlight of my visit was ascending the castle's tower for a panoramic view of the city. The breathtaking vistas of Ljubljana's red-roofed old town and the lush green surroundings were simply magical.
Ljubljana Castle also offers a delightful dining experience at its restaurants, making it a perfect spot to relax and savor traditional Slovenian cuisine.
Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply seeking stunning views, Ljubljana Castle is a must-visit destination that captures the essence of Slovenia's capital. #slovenia #ljubljana
Ljubljana - picturesque, romantic city.
#timetotravel
I’m not sure what harder? Getting there or spelling the word? 😉 One thing for sure, I was captivated by its romantic, picturesque sights.
I was here on my long wkend stop over from Bled. I would say, it’s one of those cities I exceptionally adore.
Love the vibrance on days, and the serenity in the night. Although it may be enough to go around on a day trip, I highly suggest 2-3days to fully immersed the city.
🇸🇮Landmark of Slovenia : Dragon Bridge🐉
Attraction: Dragon Bridge
Location: Resljeva cesta 2, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia
Direction: 10 minutes walk from City Center
This is a significant bridge in Slovenia, located in Ljubljana , the capital city. This 33.3 meters long bridge was built in the beginning of the 20th century, when Ljubljana was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The Dragon bridge was also one of Europe's earliest reinforced concrete bridges and the first such bridge in Ljubljana. It was the first bridge in Slovenia to be paved with asphalt. This is a place where many tourist will come and take pictures with.📸

Restaurant name: Seherezada
Location: Trubarjeva cesta 31, Ljubljana, Slovenia
Opening Hours: 9am to 1am
For Muslim travellers, they always worry about finding halal food, this restaurant in Ljubljana is a really good deal! Their food is really huge in size and in cheap price compare to others. For example, I got a Chicken doner for €5 only! Most of the food here is less than €10. They have food like soup, salad, pizza and falafel! If you are on a budget and looking for good food, this is definitely right restaurant for you

Dragon unfolds the Ljubljana Castle story
Ljubljana Castle, located in Slovenia's capital city, has a rich history dating back to prehistoric times. Over the centuries, it has served as a Roman fortress, a medieval stronghold, and a symbol of power for various ruling dynasties. The castle has witnessed multiple architectural transformations and played a significant role in the city's development. Today, it stands as a popular tourist destination, offering panoramic views, cultural exhibitions, and historical insights into Ljubljana's past.
In the heart of Ljubljana, where legends dance,
Stands the castle proud, in its majestic stance.
As the bronze dragon from the bridge I gaze,
Witnessing history unfold, through timeless days.
From battlements high, I survey the land,
Where kings and queens once held their command.
Through centuries of change, my watch remains,
A sentinel perched, amidst ancient remains.
Oh, Ljubljana Castle, a tale I tell,
Of knights, and conquests, where stories dwell.
May your walls endure, through ages untold,
As I guard the bridge, a witness bold.

The Ljubljanica River... Ljubljana, Slovenia...
The Ljubljanica River, known as Sava in medieval times, is a river located in the southern part of the Ljubljana Basin in Slovenia. The capital city of Slovenia, Ljubljana, is situated along this river. The Ljubljanica River starts south of the village of Vrhnika and flows into the Sava River about 10 km downstream from Ljubljana. The area with the most water is the Mali Graben Canal. Including the water-rich Little Ljubljanica, the river's length is about 41 km. After passing 1,300 meters of the Little Ljubljanica, it merges with the Big Ljubljanica and continues to flow. The Ljubljanica is a river with seven names, as it is a continuation of several karst rivers that flow on the surface and underground caves in the Prezid Karst area, reaching Vrhnika.
Slovenia's capital Ljubljana, take the cable car to the castle for a panoramic view.
Slovenia's capital: Ljubljana, with a population of about 300,000 people.
The English name 'Slovenia' is the only country name in the world that contains 'love' 🥹❗❗
The most striking feature is the Baroque-style pink Franciscan Church of the Annunciation, which is considered the landmark of this town.
In addition, there are the Three Bridges (Dragon Bridge, Butcher's Bridge, Triple Bridge).
The dragon is the guardian of Ljubljana, so naturally, there is a Dragon Bridge.
The Dragon Bridge is 33 meters long, with dragon statues at each of the four corners.
Side shots can capture the dragon's wings and tail.
On weekends when there is a market, the sides under the Triple Bridge are open for free.
Found the castle, tickets on-site are 16 euros per person,
You can enjoy the beauty of the bell tower, as well as the church and museum.
Finally, take the cable car to move up layer by layer to enjoy the castle view,
and then layer by layer to get a panoramic view of Slovenia.
Not only can you see the place where you took photos at the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation earlier,
but you can also see various red brick houses and canals, and even small boats traveling on the canals❗ It's worth a shot.
Captured a panoramic view of Slovenia
It turns out that this Eastern European town is so beautiful 🥰🥰
Ljubljana's center market is free to explore
Ljubljana's Central Market is more than just a place to shop. Traditionally, it has also been a place for the locals to meet and enjoy themselves together.
The Central Market consists of an open-air market, located in the Vodnikov trg and Pogačarnev trg squares, a covered market situated in between the two squares, and a series of small food shops along the river Ljubljanica, which are referred to as 'Plečnik's Covered Market' as they are located in a colonnade designed by Ljubljana's famous architect Jože Plečnik.
In the indoor market building, on the ground floor of the Seminary Palace, one can buy cured meat products, fresh meat, home-made bread baked in a wood oven, home-made biscuits and pastries, various kinds of local cheeses, dried fruit and nuts, local olive and pumpkin seed oil, etc.
The street foods in open air market is really tasty and not expensive 👍

Ljubljana is immersed in an omnipresent green environment. The city was awarded the title of European Green Capital in 2016, making it a city with a green soul! Environmental awareness is deeply ingrained here, and even in the bustling city center, you will be pleasantly surprised to find large, well-preserved green spaces. Lush parks, verdant tree-lined paths, and clear rivers are all examples of the harmonious coexistence of nature and the city. Walking through it feels like being in a serene green ocean, bringing a sense of tranquility and joy.
Strolling through the old town of Ljubljana feels like traveling through a tunnel of time. The ancient buildings and narrow streets convey the marks of time, and the chimes of history seem to echo in your ears. Among the stone streets are colorful buildings, with vibrant flowers blooming under the eaves, exuding a rich cultural atmosphere.
Traveling in Slovenia is actually quite popular, mostly among Europeans and Americans. For Asians, it is a relatively niche destination. During my several hiking trips, I encountered locals walking their dogs. Once, a dog stopped and stared at me until I passed by, and another time, a big yellow dog barked at me while retreating. The owner told me not to be afraid, as the dog had never seen an Oriental person and wouldn't harm me. I think there are not many Asian tour groups here, possibly because it is a place for summer retreats, cycling, vacations, and hiking. However, in the small towns I passed through, I saw Chinese restaurants and shops. Every time I saw a sign in Chinese, it warmed my heart.
The World in the Valley
Wulong Tiankeng, also known as Wulong Karst, is located in the eastern part of Fairy Mountain Town, Wulong District, Chongqing City, situated to the south of Fairy Mountain. It is a World Natural Heritage site, a national 5A tourist attraction, and features typical karst topography.
Wulong Tiankeng consists of three natural stone arch bridges: Tianlong Bridge, Qinglong Bridge, and Heilong Bridge. These bridges are closely connected and distributed within the Yangshui River Gorge, with each bridge spanning over 500 meters, linking the mountains on both sides and creating a 'three bridges between two pits' landscape. With an average height of over 246 meters, they showcase the natural bridges of Wulong Karst, an important part of the Wulong Karst World Natural Heritage, and serve as an important example for scientific research and education in the field of karstology.
Wulong Tiankeng is characterized by its magnificence, danger, and steepness, and is the largest bead-like natural bridge cluster in the world. It integrates with the surrounding mountains, rivers, waterfalls, and gorges to form a rare geological wonder and an ecological tourism area. It has been the location for the shooting of external scenes for movies such as 'Curse of the Golden Flower,' 'Transformers 4,' and the film version of 'Eternal Love.'
You can first reach the Fairy Mountain Tourist Center in the Wulong Karst tourist area, and then take a scenic area bus to the entrance of the scenic area. After entering, you can walk under the arches of the three stone bridges in sequence, and then walk up from the other end to the exit, or you can take an electric cart. Depicting Slovenia’s rich heritage 🇭🇷👫
#weekendgetaways
Exploring the National Museum of Slovenia on a weekend with my family was a captivating journey through history and culture. As we wandered through the exhibits, my children's curiosity was ignited by the ancient artifacts and displays depicting Slovenia's rich heritage. From prehistoric relics to medieval treasures, there was so much to learn and discover. The interactive displays engaged us all, making it an educational yet enjoyable experience. We left with a deeper appreciation for Slovenia's past and a sense of connection to its people. It was a weekend well spent, creating memories and fostering a love for learning in my children.
Does this look familiar? The image of a Western dragon in Ljubljana, Slovenia
Most of the countries in the Balkan region are predominantly Catholic. Staying at the Intercontinental, the Intercontinental Hotel in Ljubljana is very close to the bridges, Dragon Bridge, Triple Bridge, and you can even see the scenery from the balcony. The city is not big, and it's very suitable for walking around and sightseeing.
✅Must experience:
The magnificent Franciscan Church of the Annunciation in Ljubljana, the capital of the Republic of Slovenia, with its pink facade, attracts many devout believers and feels like a place of compassion.
But not far from here, on the large bronze doors of another church, are carved the portraits of several former archbishops, each looking sinister and cunning, giving a chilling feeling.
❤Recommended reason:
On the railings of the bridge over the Ljubljanica River, there are four dragons guarding peace, clearly the prototypes referenced in American blockbusters. Here, he is the guardian dragon of peace. This is in stark contrast to the evil dragons of Croatia.
🧳Pre-trip preparation:
Between the Triple Bridge and the Dragon Bridge, there is a Lover's Bridge completed in 2010, covered with colorful locks of couples, attracting the interest of children. But the bronze sculptures of artists on the bridge seem to roar: Don't play these fake tricks, to deceive others as well as yourself.
The most memorable thing here should actually be the great 19th-century poet France Prešeren.
His verse: 'Where the sunlight shines, there is no more war, all are free brethren.' has become the goal of all who love peace around the world. Another toast poem has become the national anthem, I wonder if it also comes from his collection of poems? But it is widely known, its simplicity, sincerity, and plainness speak to people's hearts, let's share it here as well:
👍Most recommended:
May God bless all nations,
Work tirelessly for better days.
Then in the world's dwellings,
There will be no more wars and conflicts to torment.
Cherish the peace in your eyes,
Everyone enjoys freedom and happiness.
No enemies,
Only good neighboring countries.
Everyone enjoys freedom and happiness,
No enemies,
Only good neighboring countries.

Capturing the World: 126,028 Moments
How many photos are in your camera roll? I bet I have more—126,028! And that's without selfies because I'm absolutely terrible at taking them. I admire the girls who excel in that department; they are the invisible front-line warriors.
As for photos of new cities and countries, that's my forte. Swipe through the carousel to see what I captured in Slovenia in just one day using the new HUAWEI nova 9 smartphone. Thanks to the Ultra Vision 50 MP camera with a large RYYB color filter sensor, it takes pictures as good as a full-size camera, which usually weighs almost as much as me when I'm not on a diet 😉
The new smartphone from @huaweimobilerus, on the other hand, is super lightweight and thin. The photos it produces are incredibly sharp, even in low light conditions. Plus, the smartphone's battery fully charges in just 38 minutes thanks to HUAWEI SuperCharge 66W fast charging.
Which of my phone-taken photos do you like the most? Let me know in the comments! 📸🌍
Ljubljana Unveiled: Slovenia's Walkable Gem 🚶♂️🏛️
As someone who considers 25,000 steps a norm, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Ljubljana is a completely pedestrian city. Only residents are allowed to drive in the center, resulting in immaculate cobblestone streets, no litter in sight, and beautifully restored historic buildings. Slovenia turned out to be one of this year's best discoveries.
Must-visit highlights include:
▪️ Central Town Hall
▪️ Ljubljana Castle – a medieval fortress overlooking the city
▪️ Triple Bridge (rivalling the beauty of French bridges)
▪️ Dragon Bridge
▪️ St. Nicholas' Cathedral
▪️ Franciscan Church
▪️ National Gallery of Slovenia
▪️ Tivoli Park
I highly recommend staying at @antiqpalace, a cozy family-run hotel where you'll enjoy fresh homemade pastries for breakfast and be captivated by the 16th-century estate's opulence and cleanliness.
I've already planned a spring road trip across Europe, and I'll definitely return here. Have you ever been to Slovenia? What would you like to know about this country?

Unfiltered voices, untamed and bold.
In this artistic haven, I find my voice,
Where rebellion and beauty coalesce, rejoice.
Metelkova Art Center, my eternal muse,
Where creativity flourishes, and norms I refuse.
As a graffiti, I thrive on these walls,
A testament to freedom, where imagination sprawls.
