A WELL DECORATED CAFÉ.
Intimate destination with colorful decor offering hot drinks, plus pastries & brunch.
Since we were in Bordeaux, we decided to visit this beautiful cafe . So far, we have only been there once, but the atmosphere left a great impression on us.
The Coffee was great and that fruit tartelette was good . As someone whose passion is pastry and baking, this one was the best we have ever had and tasted. And for very good price, especially compared to the competition around.

BEAUTIFUL BORDEAUX.
Bordeaux, hub of the famed wine-growing region, is a port city on the Garonne River in southwestern France. It’s known for its Gothic Cathédrale Saint-André, 18th- to 19th-century mansions and notable art museums such as the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux.
Public gardens line the curving river quays. The grand Place de la Bourse, centered on the Three Graces fountain, overlooks the Miroir d’Eau reflecting pool.

A CATHEDRAL IN BORDEAUX.
The cathedral is a Gothic cathedral with attractive 19th century stained glass windows and a distinctive choir with carved misericordes.
Bordeaux cathedral originates from the Romanesque church of Saint Andrew which was built in the 11th century. It gradually gained influence over its main rival, the church of Saint Severinus which had the relics of companions of Saint John to attract pilgrims.
In 1137 thirteen year old Eleanor of Aquitaine married the future Louis VII in Saint Andrew's cathedral. Louis's father died just months later and she became the Queen of France.
Only a wall in the Nave remains of the original Romanesque church but the current Gothic cathedral was constructed over the 14 and 15th centuries. A separate bell tower, the Pey-Berland tower, was also built over this period.

THE CAPC MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART.
The CAPC museum of contemporary art in Bordeaux offers a year-round program of temporary exhibitions. It is housed in the former customs warehouse for colonial goods. In this gigantic space, artists make the place their own: a room fitted out with stone vaults and columns, staircases in which you can get lost.
Not forgetting the Arc en Rêve architecture centre, dedicated to urban planning. Go up to the terrace of the Café du Musée for a drink.

GROSSE CLOCHE.
The Grosse Cloche is one of the oldest belfries in France, in the heart of the city
The Latin inscription on the inside of the Grosse Cloche (literally "Big Bell") reads "I ring the hours and my voice is a call to arms, (…) I sing for happy events and weep for the dead". The bell was cast in 1775 and weighs no less than 7,750 kilos! Christened "Armande-Louise", it rings 6 times a year for major celebrations such as Bastille Day, VE Day, and Remembrance Day and also the first Sunday of each month at noon.
The gateway where the bell is hung also had a defensive function and served as a prison. Young people who misbehaved were confined there, shut in by a door 10 cm thick with enormous bolts. It was joked at the time that they stayed in the "Hotel du Lion d’Or" – an allusion to the weather vane on the central dome with a representation of a lion, symbolising the kings of England.
This gateway is open for visits. A guide will show you the strange dungeons still haunted by the memory of people who did not respect curfew or public order.

Bordeaux’s Water and Light Museum
This place is so amazing and fun and for only 11 euros (for students)
I’ve been to plenty of visual art museums but this one is gigantic. It’s so fun to walk around in the dark with the music and lights reflecting on the water. At the time of my visit, we saw the shows of Salvador Dali and Gaudi. The shows just repeat every hour or so.
Great value to chill. I just wish that there were more shows to watch.

The Pastries Heaven Of Bordeaux
If you are a fan of sweet French oastires, one way is to visit the French country itself. Marche Des Capucins is a place where many called it like a farmers market but this place opens daily except Mondays where the stall vendors will sell local produce spreads, fresh baked pastries, freshly slice cheese and own family business wine and of course fresh coffee and other French delicacies.
Eating out in France is quite expensive especially in restaurants and cafes, so this is one of the next cheaper option of eating out on take aways. At least the weather isn't as humid when you do take out and sit along the many sears on the side roads.

Located in the western France not far from Spain Bordeaux is very beautiful city. It is also very close to the Atlantic Ocean so is good additional destination for people who decided to explore the beaches of western France. The most famous attraction is the water mirror right at the main square.

Bordeaux , France
Bordeaux, France, is a city steeped in history, with its roots tracing back over 2,000 years to Roman times. Once a significant port in the Roman Empire, it was known as Burdigala and played a key role in trade, particularly in wine and goods from across the Mediterranean. The city’s historical importance continued through the Middle Ages, when it became a prosperous center of commerce and culture under the rule of the English during the 12th and 13th centuries. This period is reflected in its architecture, including the imposing Bordeaux Cathedral (Saint-André Cathedral), a masterpiece of Gothic design that dates back to the 12th century.
Bordeaux’s 18th-century transformation into a neoclassical city, under the guidance of city planners like Victor Louis, marked a golden age in its history. This era left an indelible mark on the city, with grand squares such as Place de la Bourse and the development of wide boulevards lined with elegant buildings. The city became a symbol of Enlightenment ideals, with its salons and intellectual circles fostering new ideas.
Bordeaux’s rich wine tradition, dating back to Roman times, further solidified its global reputation. Today, the historic center of Bordeaux, a UNESCO World Heritage site, continues to celebrate the city’s deep historical and cultural heritage, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts.

Bordeaux | The Cosy bistro in Bordeaux with high quality food
This time I traveled to Bordeaux with friends, and we went to a charming French bistro nearby for dinner. It’s a cozy place with a warm, welcoming staff.
French Meat Spread on Bread
Apparently, this is a homemade spread commonly made in French households. It’s soft and fluffy, like a meat-based version of cheese spread, and pairs perfectly with bread!
Goose Liver
The portion was huge! Typically, you only get about a third of this amount in Paris. It’s served with fig jam and bread – delicious!
Beef
We tried two types: Charolais beef and German beef. The Charolais was finer and smoother in texture, while the German beef was firmer with a perfectly seared, slightly crispy exterior. (Overall, the portions are very generous.)
Fish
The fish was super fresh and large, fried to perfection so that it stayed intact without breaking – quite skillful!
Vegetables and Potato Pancakes
The side dishes, including vegetables and potato pancakes, were all very tasty!
Dessert
We finished with a dessert platter featuring six different items. The French are generous with their sweets! Each dessert was delicious, and I particularly loved the soft bread with cream, which was not overly sweet and paired well with coffee.

A place for Brunch
After a couple of disappointing cafe experiences i was looking at most options as a tourist trap. Kept passing by this place several times. And finally gave in looking at how busy it stayed at all times. Surely this must be good. Since then we ended up eating here like 4 times in 5 days of stay. From breakfast to bunch and late noon stops for coffee and pastries.
I also loved that the place is cute and tastefully designed, so i didn't mind hanging out. The brownie was delicious but too crumbly. Matcha Latte and Cappuccino were the best so far. Definitely come here for brunch, very delightful, but be ready to wait for seating. It's a popular thing here and lots of people come for it. I found take out to be at least 20-30 percent cheaper.

City break Bordeaux 🇫🇷

We had a fantastic family trip to Bordeaux, France! The city is filled with charm and history. We started our day at Place de la Bourse, which was breathtaking with its reflective water mirror. The entrance to the mirror was free, making it a perfect spot for photos. We then strolled through the beautiful Jardin Public and visited the Cité du Vin, which had an entrance fee of around €20 but was well worth it for the interactive wine exhibits. Bordeaux’s vibrant food scene and nearby St. André Cathedral were highlights too. A memorable trip for all! 🌟🍷🏰

#myhiddengems the beautiful bridge in central Bordeaux with the sunset as a backdrop. One of the main bridges to cross through river Garonne is the Pont de Pierre with beautiful architecture. At night it is beautifully lit with traditional lamps which seems like a picture on a postcard. The best time is at sunset when you witness the beautiful colours of the sunset over the waters of the river with its tantalising reflection that’s so calming.

Never bored in Bordeaux! Visit to Bar a Vin!
We adore Bordeaux at all times of the year so don’t be afraid to go off season. It’s got a lot to offer even on a short visit. And it’s absolutely worth stopping in Bar a Vin, an absolute hidden gem that I actually hope remains hidden. It’s got a really special wine list per the glass, at very very low costs. They do beautiful cheese plates too which just compliment the wines so nicely. And it’s a nice atmosphere and a quiet little spot away from the heat of the streets and the crowds. #wine #cheapeats
