Steps into Málaga’s Timeless Majesty
#europetrip This photograph captures a serene moment of exploration in Málaga, set against the intricate and majestic architecture of the city’s rich cultural landmarks. The focal point is a woman gracefully walking towards the ornate, castle-like structure of Castillo de Colomares, a monument dedicated to Christopher Columbus and the discovery of America. Located in Benalmádena, near Málaga, this stunning creation merges Gothic, Romanesque, and Mudejar architectural styles, making it a unique tribute to Spain’s historical legacy.
The intricate spires, delicate stone carvings, and warm terracotta hues of the structure contrast beautifully with the lush greenery framing the scene. The vibrant blue sky overhead adds a sense of openness and tranquility, further enhancing the dreamlike atmosphere. The play of light and shadow creates depth and texture, inviting the viewer to imagine wandering through this enchanting place.

A place I've been wanting to visit for so long.. And my expectations were proven. At the entrance you can buy a ticket which costs 3 euro ( in my opinion its cheap ,usually entrances in Spain are 5+ euro),the lady asks where are you from and next she gives you a printed paper with information about the place in your language. I've been genuinely surprised by this in a good way . Totally loved it. And then you enter and everything is just stunning.. if you like castle architecture or you just want to do some nice pictures I highly recommend 👌 There are free toilets and a coffee bar also
Such a beautiful, fairytale castle which renders such beautiful views of the coastline as well as castle looks so cute as backdrop in pics. Even entrance ticket are pretty reasonable. Highly recommend to visit this one
Very nice place not far away from main road. Theres nice ocen view amd a lot of small towers and hidden places - children love it. Entrance fee is low and you get a paper (many languages) about this place.

Colomares Castle - SPAIN
In the city of Benalmádena, you’ll find the Colomares Castle (Castillo de Colomares), which was built as a memorial to Christopher Columbus and the discovery of the Americas.
Esteban Martin, who started working on the project in 1987 with two bricklayers and placed the last stone seven years later, had the same goal in mind.
The Doctor was misunderstood for over 15 years and treated like a madman because of it, forcing him to fight the building like Don Quixote. He spent practically all of his wealth on this monument
The Castillo Colomares towers above the surrounding vegetation and blends in nicely with the other structures, making it difficult to see from a distance.
You’ll soon realize that it’s not a castle at all but rather a memorial to Christopher Columbus. Included in the show are three ships and the world’s tiniest church inside the walls. This is what is impressive about visiting this old building.
The construction of Castillo de Colomares lasted a long time and was influenced by a number of architectural eras. You may learn about the three religions that existed in medieval Spain (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) and about Christopher Columbus’s journey by taking a tour of the Colomares Castle.

Experience the magical atmosphere of Spanish castles, waiting for you to explore.
📍The charm of Spain is not only reflected in the outstanding appearance of their football team during the unprecedented football frenzy,
Not just next to one delicious Spanish seafood rice after another.
Colomares Castle's 🏰 magical atmosphere undoubtedly refreshes 🔄 our perception of Spanish scenery ❗
🔮Kolomares
Cloaked in the guise of a "castle", it is actually a memorial.
With its ✨Guinness certification✨, it serves multiple roles: being both the largest Columbus monument in the country and the smallest church in the country.
The architectural style of the entire castle is extremely grand, and the magical feeling created by the totem-like carvings that spiral up the main structure is reminiscent of the Blue Temple in Thailand.
The overall copper-colored group-style construction style seems to transport people to the vicinity of the distant Egyptian pyramids.
The grandeur of Colomares makes people feel particularly small.
The exquisite carving of the building makes the entrance look like a "barrier", and as you approach the main building step by step, it feels like entering a different world🔮.

PAELLA!! AND PAÉL
For her and for him!! It was really funny. We learnt that if you pronounce very quickly PAELLA, it may sound like para Ella, for her. Anyway, it was a very lovely break from the lively Málaga trip. Benalmadena is a city near Málaga. You can enjoy your day at the beach. It is normally very quiet so, you won't be disturb by children screaming or people having loud music. Also their Chiringuitos serve a large range of seafood, traditional Spanish meals as well as vegetarian. I was very happy to find all those options as sometimes is hard for vegetarian people to enjoy Spanish traditional meals by the coast. Walking along the paseo, you can find some monuments like this sun clock. It was just very nice to relax, feel the breeze, walk on the sun, breath.

[Europe][Spain] A night in Benalmádena
Although both Benalmádena and Torremolinos are famous for their beaches and they are adjacent to each other, I like Torremolinos better because of its local atmosphere. There are more local shops and restaurants, as well as chiringuitos in Torremolinos.
Much more than a beach town
Benalmádena is well known for being a coastal town where you can enjoy fresh seafood but it is more than that. I will tell you my perfect plan for the day, waking up and going for a nice walk by the sea at the Paseo Marítimo, it will help you to wake up. Enjoy a relax breakfast and get ready for the beach morning. Then have lunch and in the afternoon visit this park. It is entrance free and you can enjoy reading a book, walking around while getting surprise by the visit of bunnies, chickens, turtles. It is very funny and loving the way they live in the “wild” in the park with no cages that make them stay. Also at night, depends of your taste, you can either have a quiet evening and enjoy a meal at a restaurant or chiringuito or do that and go night clubbing. Very complete spot!
