Aegina island|Greece
Have you gone to Athens and want to go try a quick excursion?
I have a solution for you! 🥳
Go to Piraeus port, take the boat to Aegina (the ticket costs 20€ and 10€ for students, Childs etc) and in 40minutes or 1hour, you will arrive to the island! Ohh yes😍
I think it is a perfect option for relaxing with your friends and your family❤️
Some of the top activities in Aegina are:
1. Saint Nektarios, who is famous for his miracles and all the people worship his tomb and take holy water. How to get there? We took a scooter (costs 30€/day) and we arrived in 10-15 minutes from the Aegina port.
Otherwise, you can take the local bus😊
2. You have to try pistachios!!! It is the most famous product in Aegina!🤤 I tried pasteli pistachios with dark chocolate and salty caramel and I really loved it! Trust me! 😍 The people there are famous for their hospitality and they are gonna give you their locals products to try🥰
3. Go for a walk in the centre of the island and get lost in the alleys😊
4. Also, you must visit the temple of Aphaia. It is a must sight of the island and it is close to Saint Nektarios. The entrance costs 6€.
Stay tuned for more !!

Aegina peacefull and beautiful island in greece
Aegina is definitely worth a visit! This charming island, rich in history and blessed with natural beauty, offers something for everyone. Aegina is not just about clear, blue waters and sun-drenched beaches.
It’s an island that perfectly blends the tranquility of traditional Greek life with vibrant local cuisine, all set within a landscape that boasts ancient temples and scenic trails. From the historical Temple of Aphaia to the bustling local markets offering the famed Aegina pistachios, the island enthralls every sense.
Visit Sarpa or Kleidi beaches in Perdika for a great time. You can swim until sunset, relax on sunbeds, enjoy lounge music, and savor the best dakos (Cretan salad) you’ve ever tasted.
If you’re not into shopping, sit for a coffee at Remvi at Nisos, located at the island’s port, and let your partner roam the narrow alleys.
The highlight? The accessory store named “Fistiki” (it means pistachio, you didn’t see that coming, did you?).
How to get here:
The easiest way to get to Aegina is to catch the ferry from the port of Piraeus in Athens. The island is just 1 hour away and it's the perfect destination for a day trip or long weekend trip.
I bought the ticket over the counter nearby the Piraeus port.
A glimpse of Santorini without the price tag!
#summerdestinations This Aegean island exudes a charm reminiscent of Santorini, with its stunning whitewashed buildings perched against a backdrop of deep blue waters. The island’s narrow, winding streets and vibrant bougainvillea create a picturesque setting similar to the iconic views of Santorini. The contrast of bright, sunlit facades against the azure sea and sky mirrors the island’s renowned beauty. Whether you’re exploring quaint local shops or enjoying a sunset over the caldera, the island’s ambiance evokes the serene elegance of its famous counterpart. The Aegean island’s blend of architectural splendor and natural beauty makes it a delightful destination that captures the essence of Santorini’s allure.
The beautiful island of Aegina and the majestic Temple of Aphaia
It’s a sunny and cooling weather on the Aegina islands. You can see the locals going about on their day to day business. And of course the myriads of tourists that are coming from the port itself.
The highlight of Aegina island is the Temple of Aphaia itself. It’s a half an hour bus ride to the top of the mountain where the temple is situated. It’s a must go for those who loved the Acropolis. #Greece #Athens #Aegina
P.S Please check the schedule of the bus, so as to not get stranded on top of the mountain.

Boat to Aegina Island, Greece
How to transport tourisr to Aegina Island, Greece? That is a question I asked the hotel lobby in Athens. Easily answer is for sure, by transfer boat at the port. There are 2 types of marine boat you can take to the island, speed boat and normal boat. There will be 30 minute in different by the faster but more expensive one. I chose the normal one and I was impressed by its size and steady run through the sea. The ship was huge and not too crowded. You can access the rooftops for sight seeing that you will be able to see some sailing and seagulls along the route. #Boattrip #Greece
