Hotel near Waikiki,Honolulu
Discover a new standard of luxury and convenience at our Japanese Capsule hotel, inspired by the elegance of first-class airline cabins. Perfectly located in Waikiki Business Plaza, just a 5-minute walk from Waikiki Beach and minutes from top attractions like Diamond Head and the Waikiki Aquarium, our hotel is the ideal base for your Hawaiian adventure. Enjoy breathtaking sunset views, a versatile lounge for dining and working, and a tranquil sauna for ultimate relaxation. With thoughtful amenities and seamless comfort, your unforgettable Waikiki experience starts here.

"I chose this place for my solo trip because hotels were too expensive. The location is absolutely fantastic, right on a main street, so I felt perfectly safe walking alone at night. Even though it's a capsule hotel, they provide towels, thin slippers, and a toothbrush. The sheets were clean, and it felt private enough that I could actually sleep. Since there are Japanese staff, communication in Japanese was easy. Everyone staying there was traveling solo, so it was very quiet. I even wondered if it was the quietest place in all of Hawaii (lol). The shared lounge/living area was also quiet, and you could get free tea and water. My capsule was next to the women-only door, so I frequently heard the door opening and closing in the middle of the night and early morning, which was a bit bothersome. My only real complaint would be the shared showers. I stayed for two nights, and on the second day, someone hadn't rinsed out their hair after using the shower, and the sinks were also full of hair. I guess that's to be expected for this price point. Other than that, everything else was good. I think it's a great place if you can tolerate the showers."

Nearby, Tropics Bar & Grill remains a favorite for its relaxed, beachfront setting and casual island-style fare. Every Friday evening, the resorts beachfront becomes the stage for one of Waikikis most iconic traditions, its spectacular fireworks show.

"The Rainbow Tower is quite new and the rooms are decent, but the elevators are incredibly slow. With over 1000 rooms sharing just 5 elevators, you're looking at nearly a ten-minute wait every time. I'd advise against booking an ocean view room because you won't really see much ocean; it's mostly lagoon. For a true ocean view, you'd need to book an 'oceanfront view,' and even then, it depends on the front desk's mood – they might give you a low floor where you still can't see anything. My room was on a very low floor with virtually no view, plus there was construction going on downstairs, which was very noisy. The hotel's location is a bit out of the way for Waikiki; it's over a 15-minute walk to the main area. However, it's only a 15-minute walk to Ala Moana Shopping Center. Also, if beach quality is important to you, don't stay here. The beach is full of coral fragments, which hurt your feet, and the water is murky. The towel counter closes at 6 PM, so there's nowhere to return towels after that. Additionally, they don't offer complimentary beach chairs or bodyboards, unlike Marriott where they're free. Overall, it's not really worth the price."

"Good hotel for a short stay in waikiki. The location is great right in the center but the fact that it is just above a nightclub is a downside as you can quite hear the music until 2 or 4 in the morning. The staff is helpful and the hotel provides beach gear for free which is great"

"We stayed at this hotel from October 29 to November 4. Overall, the staff was polite and the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels provided — which we appreciated. However, several issues significantly affected our experience. First, the accessible bathroom we specifically booked did not match the photos. There was no handheld shower head, which was important for us. Second, the mirror in the hallway was noticeably dirty upon arrival, with visible streaks from a wet cloth — quite unpleasant for a hotel of this level. I also reported that the faucet in the sink splashed water everywhere, soaking the countertop and the floor. I was told the issue would be checked, but nothing was fixed throughout our stay. The two-faucet system used to regulate water in the bathroom was also very inconvenient, and we consistently had problems with unstable hot water pressure. A separate major issue was the parking. I prepaid and reserved parking for 5 days, but on the second evening all the spots were already taken, and I was simply instructed to park in a different building nearby. This was extremely inconvenient — having to carry things from the 3rd floor of another parking structure and waste additional time. It turned out that even if you pay in advance, your parking spot is not guaranteed — anyone from outside can take it. So you pay, but end up without the service you were promised. Overall, the staff tried to provide good service, but the organizational issues, maintenance problems, and poorly managed parking system seriously reduced our comfort. Unfortunately, after this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel."

"The hotel is very quiet, and the sea views are absolutely stunning. From the room, you can see so many yachts. It's lovely to watch them head out to sea in the morning, and in the afternoon, there are lots of people surfing. The hotel's pool is fantastic, and there's a Japanese restaurant downstairs that's incredibly delicious – we really enjoyed it, and it was only a bit over 100 for two, which is quite reasonable. The best part is how clean the hotel is; the hygiene is excellent. I'll definitely stay here again next time!"

"The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient for getting around, shopping, and dining. What was really frustrating is that I booked through an agent, and the amount I was told to pay at check-in was significantly less than what the hotel actually charged. When I contacted Trip.com, they said the agent told them the final payment should be based on what the hotel charges, and that I should negotiate with the hotel directly. I absolutely cannot accept this kind of buck-passing, or even fraudulent, behavior from an agent. Trip.com eventually compensated me for my loss, so they were quite proactive in resolving the issue. I strongly advise everyone to avoid booking through agents; they need to be held accountable for their actions!"

Travelers will find everything they need to keep it all within budget. There is a daily amenity fee that includes cultural activities, dining perks, refillable bottles and more.

"I stayed three nights in a partial ocean view room and four nights in an ocean view room. If the price difference isn't significant, definitely opt for the ocean view room – the experience is so much better (the partial ocean view room barely has any ocean view to speak of). The room itself was decent, and the cleanliness was okay, but the towels had a strange smell. The hotel's location is super convenient. The second floor connects directly to the Ala Moana shopping center, and there's a Don Quijote next door, making it very easy to shop and eat. It's about a 10-minute taxi ride to Waikiki, or a 30-minute walk. Personally, I prefer the nearby Ala Moana Beach, it's very chill. Car rental parking is also convenient. Rooms offer a variety of views, selection of bedding types, and the conveniences of a full service hotel and the comforts of home.

"The hotel is nice for the price of low $223 but they charge $45 per day of activity fees but I never used. The location is about 10 minutes walk from the central Waikiki area but is OK. The breakfast buffet is good and includes in the room package. The only problem is that they only have valet parking for $60 per day. It took them 45 minutes in the morning to get my car down on day 1 and we missed the tour. The other days were 10 to 15 minutes. I guess they don’t have enough parking so they have to double park and triple park. I tried to park at the adjacent Banyan lot but all full after 8pm. There are no other viable option other than valet parking in the hotel."

"The room was a bit small, about 30 square meters, but perfectly adequate for two adults and one child, especially since we spent most of our time outdoors anyway and only came back to the hotel to shower and sleep. The hotel's location is excellent – it's very close to the Hilton beach. If you head right out of the hotel and cross the traffic light, there's a 7-Eleven where you can buy a bus pass and snacks. Keep an eye out just before you reach the 7-Eleven intersection, as there's a small food truck market there with delicious and affordable food. P.S. There's an airport shuttle bus that pretty much drops you off right at the hotel entrance. However, if you're looking for the shuttle right after you land, it's a bit of a walk from the terminal. We actually tried out the airport bus route specifically when we were leaving, and it took about forty minutes."

I recently stayed at this hotel in the Penthouse and, overall, had a pleasant stay. However, there were several areas where the guest experience could be improved. Pros: * The location is convenient, with Waikiki Beach approximately a 15-minute walk away. * There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, although I would recommend making reservations in advance as many are very popular. * There are numerous ABC Stores nearby, making it easy to pick up snacks, drinks, souvenirs, and other essentials. * A special mention goes to Ralph, who was outstanding throughout our stay. He was friendly, approachable, and always happy to help with any questions or recommendations. He quickly became our go-to person whenever we needed assistance and is a real credit to the hotel. Cons: * Upon arrival, we were not offered the welcome drink that other guests appeared to receive. We checked in shortly after 3:00 pm, yet we saw guests arriving at around 9:30 pm the previous evening being offered welcome drinks. It was disappointing that this was not provided consistently. * We were never informed that the hotel offers complimentary beach umbrellas and chairs on a first come, first served basis. We ended up purchasing our own before accidentally overhearing another member of staff explain this benefit during another guest’s check-in. * Similarly, we only discovered that the hotel offers a complimentary walking tour after overhearing a different staff member mention it to another guest. It would have been helpful if all guests were informed about the activities and amenities available during check-in. * We booked the Penthouse expecting to fully enjoy the advertised 90-degree views. While the views themselves were excellent, the balcony was much smaller than expected and not really large enough to comfortably sit and enjoy them. * The bathroom, particularly the bathtub, felt dated and would benefit from refurbishment. * The room itself is showing its age and could do with a modern refresh. * The breakfast room is exceptionally small considering the number of guests staying at the hotel. During busy periods it becomes crowded and difficult to find seating. * One morning, a guest was allowed to bring a dog into the enclosed, air-conditioned breakfast room. To my understanding, this is not permitted under Hawaii law unless the animal is a legitimate service animal, and it made the dining experience uncomfortable. * The Skyline floor cannot be accessed using the elevator on the far left, which was inconvenient and not clearly explained. * At check-in, a $200 deposit was authorised along with an additional hold on my credit card. This extra charge was never explained by staff, and I only became aware of it after reviewing my credit card statement. Greater transparency regarding incidental holds would have been appreciated. Overall, the hotel is in a good location with helpful staff, especially Ralph, and provides a comfortable base for exploring Waikiki. However, there were several inconsistencies in communication and a number of facilities that would benefit from updating. Better communication during check-in about available amenities, clearer explanations of credit card holds, and refurbishment of the rooms would significantly improve the overall guest experience.

The hotel setting is relatively simple, the overall environment is quite good, close to the beach, the hotel parking is not Ouhugui, self-parking 35, hotel parking 40, there is an important thing! It is necessary to live on the high floor, 10 floors or more is the best, we were arranged to the 3rd floor on the first night, there is a very common kind of annoying Xiaoqiang! Later, I communicated with the hotel at night and changed to the 12th floor. It was really scary. I must live on the high floor! ! The area where the hotel is located is located in Lahaina. There is a place to buy and eat in 5 minutes by car. There is ABC. Don't worry about breakfast. There are also pharmacies nearby. In short, it is not bad. ~

This is the largest Hilton resort in the world, with many pools but no swimmable beach. The hotel has dolphins and turtles. I recommend staying in MAKAI for a better environment and more convenient access. However, the hotel is quite suburban, so you'll need to rent a car to get to the city center. There's a $5 one-way shuttle bus available within the hotel.

This hotel was perfect for my trip. [Room] - Spacious - The sink was large. I was able to spread out all my amenities. The large mirror and magnifying mirror made applying makeup easy. - Excellent shower pressure. - The toilet flushed smoothly. - The bathroom had a large luggage storage area with over 10 hangers. I brought folding hangers but didn't use them. I was able to easily fit three inflatable swim rings and a suitcase. - There were plenty of chests of drawers, so I was able to store all my clothes. - There was a large mirror behind the sofa, making it easy to get ready. - There were also multiple outlets on the side beds, so charging my phone was easy. - Two adults and a small child could sleep comfortably on the king bed. There was also a sofa bed, but we didn't use it. - The housekeeper always cleaned the room well, and there was no sand from the beach. - Plenty of towels and tissues. - The coffee machine, paper cups, and drinking glasses were always kept replenished. [Pool/Beach] - You can go directly to the beach from the pool. There were plenty of beach chairs reserved for the hotel, so it was easy to find a spot. You could leave your towel and luggage there, play in the pool, then play on the beach and then return to the pool empty-handed. Duke's staff are always wandering around the poolside checking for orders, so you can order from the menu on the spot. You can even drink alcohol while swimming in the pool. Floor rings are allowed in the pool. Beach bags are provided in the rooms, so you can use them. They're large and sturdy, and I often saw people carrying them around town. I didn't need to bring my own. Water bottles are also provided. There's a water dispenser by the pool. [Overall Hotel] The staff were friendly and helpful. The staff helped me with my luggage as soon as I arrived. I arrived at 12:30, but they allowed me to check in early without asking. My luggage was delivered to my room promptly, and after I told them where the safe was, they left the room saying, ”Enjoy!”, so I almost missed a tip. While there aren't many Japanese people and none of the staff speaks Japanese perfectly, I was able to get by with just a few words. Security is tight, as you can't get on the elevators without a hotel card. Conveniently, there's a Hula Grill and Duke's just down the street from the lobby. For a late breakfast around 9:00, Hula Grill was open, and I was able to get a great beachfront seat without a reservation. I got a cheap city view room on the first floor, but I was more than satisfied with the ocean view from the lanai. The location is great, with the International Market Place right across the street. There are also plenty of shops downstairs. I forgot to buy souvenirs the day before my final day, so I popped into Honolulu Cookies, which is open until 10:00 PM, in my pajamas. It's right in the middle of Waikiki Beach, so both the Royal Hawaiian Center and Waikiki Beach Walk are within walking distance. I was very satisfied, but as other reviews have said, it can be noisy at night. Street music can be heard until late every night. However, I enjoyed it because I thought, ”Everyone's so cheerful. It feels like I'm overseas.” There were days when I could hear something that sounded like opera, and it felt like I got a good deal. It's strange that there are so few Japanese people there, considering the location and service are so good. There are almost no Japanese people there, so it feels like I'm abroad.

We stayed in an ocean view room. It was very close to the sea, and the view from the lanai was absolutely stunning. I think it was one of the ocean view rooms with the best views, being so close to the ocean. I'm very grateful that we were allocated this particular room. The housekeeping staff were also very friendly and pleasant, which made our stay enjoyable. The location was also excellent, close to the Duke Kahanamoku statue in the heart of Waikiki. The only downsides were that there was no explanation about the resort points we were supposed to receive as part of our stay. Also, we booked three rooms for six people, but due to their system, we could only process payment for one room at a time. This meant I couldn't use the same credit card for the second room and had to scramble. I'd recommend bringing enough credit cards for each room you book. These two minor issues were a bit disappointing, so I deducted one star from the service rating.
