The location is super convenient; it's just a 100-meter walk from Exit 10 of Higobashi subway station. The lobby is tucked away inside, and the entrance is small, so it's easy to miss. The room is typical for Japan, quite small. Drinking water is only provided once. The lobby offers useful local guide maps. Breakfast is served at the cafe on the first floor and is very substantial!

National Day disaster! This Japanese-style hotel, priced three times higher than usual, offered a shower experience that was utterly dreadful. I booked this Japanese-style hotel for my National Day trip, and the price was triple the usual rate. I expected a matching experience, but the awful shower completely ruined my good mood! The most outrageous issues were the shower's safety and design. The edge of the bathtub was incredibly slippery, with absolutely no anti-slip reinforcement. Three toiletries were placed directly on the edge, and during my shower, the shampoo bottle fell twice, landing heavily on my toes. The pain instantly put me off showering. There wasn't even basic safety protection. Even more frustrating was adjusting the shower temperature. The cold water came out incredibly slowly. Finding the right temperature required repeated attempts – it was either scalding hot at first, or I'd have to wait ages for the cold water to come through. This severely impacted my shower efficiency and was completely unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. I do not recommend staying here.

The hotel is located in the heart of Dotonbori, which is super convenient for shopping, and the area is very lively. It's a bit of a walk to the subway. Japanese rooms are typically small, but we were still able to open three large suitcases.

The location of the hotel is pretty convenient. 5–6 minutes walk to Hommachi St., which you can easily use to travel to Kyoto, Kobe, etc.  The check-in and check-out were really fast, and we had an upgrade, which was worth the price. I had read the previous reviews about the rudeness of the staff, which is not actually due to this, but it’s the language barrier that could make a tired traveller a little less patient.  If you wish to ask something more specific, please don’t be afraid to use the Google Translate app to help you with the communication. The staff have been really helpful to all of our enquiries. Some remarks were about the hotel lobby being on the 15th floor, but they have a dedicated entrance for taxis or cars to reach the hotel.  Bonus: if you exit through KoKuMiN Osaka Metro Yodoyabashi Station (Exit 4) on your right is a local grocery store that sells local produce and other fruits/food products. It's cheaper to go here to buy your drinks and fruits, etc.

This is my go-to hotel whenever I'm in Osaka for business. It's incredibly convenient, located right outside Exit 2 of Minamimorimachi Station. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, and there are plenty of dining options on the surrounding streets. Hankyu Department Store and Yodobashi are just about a 15-minute walk away. I'm a big fan of this room layout, especially since the toilet, shower, and vanity area are completely separate. This makes it ideal for families.

Excellent Location, Comfortable Stay in the Heart of Namba I had a great stay at Sotetsu Grand Fresa Osaka Namba. The hotel’s location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of Namba, just steps away from Dotonbori, Kuromon Market, shopping streets, and multiple subway lines. It made getting around Osaka incredibly easy, even late at night. The rooms are compact (as expected in Japan) but very clean, modern, and well-designed. Everything felt efficient and comfortable, with good soundproofing and a cozy bed that made it easy to rest after a long day of walking. The bathroom was spotless and well equipped with quality amenities. Check-in and check-out were smooth and convenient, with self-service machines available. The staff were polite, professional, and helpful whenever assistance was needed. I also appreciated the luggage storage service, which was very convenient for early arrivals or late departures. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money, especially for travelers who want to stay in a lively area with unbeatable access to food, shopping, and public transportation. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Osaka. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The hotel's surroundings are excellent, with convenient transportation; there are 3 subway stations within 1 km. However, I did notice some discrimination against Chinese guests, especially from the breakfast restaurant staff. Their service attitude clearly differed between Chinese guests and Caucasians. While it might not bother everyone, it was noticeable. Overall, this hotel is still worth staying at. The room cleaning was also very good and timely.

Location: Pretty average. While you can see Osaka Castle, it's really far from the train station, and not a central one, so you always have to transfer. Taking a taxi anywhere costs 100+ yen each time. Facilities: Since it's relatively new, the facilities are fine, no issues there. But the rooms are really small, especially in the double rooms where there's basically no space on either side or in front of the bed. It usually sells for just over 1,000 yen on weekdays, but this time, because of a Japanese holiday, it was over 3,000 yen. Decor: To be honest, it feels quite cheap. The music you hear from the guest rooms at night is also a bit eerie... Service: The greeters were definitely hand-picked for their looks. They give you cookies at check-in, and thankfully, they confirmed my allergies. However, my request for a late check-out due to a flight delay was denied. I booked breakfast, but they wouldn't let me in after 10:00 (last entry). That was my fault for missing it, but they did let me take a cup of coffee. Honestly, unless you absolutely *have* to see Osaka Castle, there's no benefit to staying here.

Locals don’t usually come here to sleep — they come to wash, relax, and go through the full spa ritual. There are three types of steam rooms, a circular shower, and three baths: two hot ones at around 41°C, and one cold shock bath at around 11°C. You dip in and instantly feel alive. One unique feature — every hour they run a group steam ritual, like a collective massage & heat therapy session. Very Japanese, and surprisingly affordable. Definitely worth trying. There’s also an inexpensive breakfast option, plus vending machines with food and drinks right inside — very convenient. Overall, it’s a men-only vibe: arrive, clean up, relax, reset, and go about your day. The capsule is just a bonus on top of the sauna experience. They give you clothing — not a robe, but loose Japanese pants and an oversized T-shirt. You get your own locker, bedding and clothes are changed daily, and the bathrooms have literally everything: toothbrush, toothpaste, gels, shampoo… even nail clippers. You don’t need to bring anything. Location is fantastic — right next to Dotonbori. Step outside and you’re instantly in the heart of Osaka’s nightlife and energy. Downsides? A strict checkout — you must leave at 10:00 AM, and check-in starts only after 3:00 PM. If you want to stay during that gap, it’s around 300 yen per hour, or ~900 yen for the day. Still — great experience. I always wanted to try a real Japanese capsule stay. Inside the capsule there’s a TV, radio, adjustable lights, and AC — though it blasts pretty strongly, so I turned it off.

The staff were lovely and the service was very good. I especially liked that the bags were taken to my room in advance while we travelled around Osaka before check-in time. The room was maybe slightly bigger than average in Japan, for the price range, and the bathroom was certainly larger. Bed was very comfortable and made for a pleasant night's sleep. Location was great.

MMeitounaohahahahaThis is one of the few hotels in Japan with a 12 PM checkout, which is great. There's a Christmas tree downstairs that adds a lovely atmosphere. We went to the theme park on our second day, and this hotel is the closest one to it – the entrance is right downstairs! Food options are also very convenient. I highly recommend the fried beef cutlet, it was absolutely delicious! Our clothes got soaked on the Jurassic ride, which was totally unexpected, but thankfully we could just pop back to the hotel to change. You just need to get a stamp from the staff at the entrance to re-enter the park. I hope to bring my kids here next time and will definitely stay here again!

DDingmaomisThe room design was modern and minimalist, making excellent use of the space, and it was spotless. My only minor complaint was that the air conditioning unit was a bit noisy, which unfortunately led to a restless first night. I particularly enjoyed the outdoor lounge on the ground floor. The Western-style set breakfast was also quite delicious. Overall, I was very satisfied with this hotel.

MMengmengmamaChoosing InterContinental Osaka was hands down the smartest decision I made! The location is absolutely phenomenal! A shopper's paradise! Major malls and flagship stores are right downstairs, making it incredibly convenient to get all your favorite items in one go! The rooms are incredibly spacious! In Japan, where space is a premium, the InterContinental's rooms feel like a true luxury. We booked a king room and even added an extra bed, and it still didn't feel cramped at all! The bathroom was also large and bright, and being able to lie down and gaze at Osaka's vibrant cityscape made it absolutely worth it! The service was exceptionally thoughtful! From check-in to check-out, every single staff member was polite, attentive, and incredibly detail-oriented. The front desk, housekeeping, concierge... even the parking and luggage storage services were absolutely faultless! When checking out, they even proactively offered to weigh my luggage. The most delightful surprise was when a staff member wished me ”Gong Xi Fa Cai” in Chinese – it felt so incredibly welcoming! It truly proved to be a brilliant choice to stay at InterContinental Osaka! Next time I'm in Osaka, I'm definitely booking this place again!

GGuest UserDecent location, close to dotonbori but not stuck in the middle of it. Staff were friendly. Room was decent size, enough to store and open suitcases if needed. Room was clean except toilet seat had something sticky on it needed wiping off with soap. Bed was comfy. Door Locks were a bit awkward/noisy (tap with your hand, then with the card to unlock). Things like toothbrushes and Razer's etc were available in the lobby Konbinis close by, main Namba train station about 15 mins walk, otherwise closer station was about 5 minutes walk.

GGuest UserCompared to places back home, it's definitely on the smaller side, but for Japan, the size is actually quite acceptable. It wasn't as cramped or dated as I'd imagined. With the lights on, it felt quite cozy, and the window provided good natural light. My only minor gripes were the lack of complimentary water and that housekeeping only came every three days. On the plus side, there's a 7-Eleven nearby, which is super convenient, and it's also very close to Tenkachaya Station. The neighborhood is residential and felt very safe, completely unlike what some online comments suggest about the 'western district' being full of homeless people; even at 9 or 10 PM, there were no drunks or homeless individuals around. Luggage storage is under camera surveillance with no staff supervision, which initially made me a little worried, but my bags were perfectly safe after half a day. All in all, it's very affordable and offers excellent value for money. 🫶

Right next to the hotel is AEON Food Style, open 24 hours, so late-night snacks are never a problem Room is clean, comfy, and practical. The buffet breakfast is surprisingly good with plenty of choices — a great start to every morning! Overall, great value and great stay!

VVinzy NgGood hotel with spa with mediocre services.  The room was neat, clean and feeling new.  However, staffs are not familiar with English, not even talking Mandarin. Using the translator with poor voice input was troublesome and sometimes it interpreted wrong meanings. Room service if missed will not be provided again on that day. Also, there were many spa-only visitors simply lying on the spa floor.  Parts of the male spa were under construction and one night there were no 40 degree Celsius or higher pool as they were all under cleaning at the same time. The ground of the spa was very slippery, mostly because many visitors did not bother to rinse themselves well after using the conditioner. The breakfast buffet is good in terms of food choices and environment. But I dislike the scrambled eggs, which had a texture tasted awful.

I had 2 big luggage, 2 medium and 2 cabin all opened on the floor. Lawson conveniently located on Level 2 and link to Rinku outlet mall also neaby. Trial 24-h supermarket just a 5 min walk away. GGrace 恩雅After staying in a cheaper APA hotel in Tokyo, my partner and I were looking forward to a higher-end stay at the Mercure in Osaka. It was... okay. I'll start with the positives: the proximity to Dotonbori is the biggest plus. It's about a 3-minute walk to the main canal strip. The hotel is separated from the peak tourism chaos by a few streets, so it isn't too overwhelmingly busy around the hotel itself. Convenient FamilyMart and 7-Eleven options are nearby, as you'd expect. The room was clean. The Italian restaurant on the 2nd floor was also quite lovely and well-priced. Now the negatives. First, the lighting was so dim in the hallways and the room itself that it was less ”pleasant mood lighting” and more ”I can't see anything/do my makeup.” I actually thought some of the lightbulbs were blown, but my partner pointed out they were just absurdly dim. Secondly, the door to the bathroom/shower was broken and wouldn't stay shut, so we had to use a few heavy items on the floor to keep it closed. Some of the USB outlets were also non-functioning. Thirdly - and this may be our fault - the washer-dryer combo machine in our room (which was a big reason for us booking this hotel) was finicky to use and only had Japanese labels/instructions. The room guide on the smart TV did have some instructions, but we struggled to operate the machine regardless. Then, after we worked it out, the drying cycle shrunk and heavily wrinkled our clothes. This wouldn't be the end of the world, but the room had no iron or ironing board. You have to go to reception to hire an iron separately or use the ”iron room,” which we never saw the inside of because it was locked every time we tried the door. None of these drawbacks were trip-ruining or anything, and in a cheaper 3-star hotel, we wouldn't be clutching our pearls about it. But because this is a pricier 4-star, internationally-known hotel brand, we expected more. Overall, the stay was not unpleasant, but it was nothing to write home about either.
