The hotel was in a good location, and breakfast was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we booked this place to use the hot tubs and when we arrived they weren’t filled. I called reception twice to have someone check out the issue but nobody ever came. It was really unfortunate since we had gotten caught in the wind and rain so our bones felt frozen. I decided to have a bath instead but the tub couldn’t hold water haha it was a series of unfortunate events.
An extremely cost-effective hotel with a free room upgrade. There is a free swimming pool with a constant temperature of 30 degrees and a hot spring pool. Breakfast is okay, not too many varieties, but good and filling.
This is a very tasteful hotel with very good service. You can overlook the snowy mountains in the distance. The breakfast is of good quality. The fried lamb chops and vegetarian meals for dinner are very good and very good! The front desk and restaurant staff were very kind and when the aurora appeared at night, the front desk promptly informed us to watch the aurora outdoors. If you come to Iceland next time, I hope to stay at the Rand Hotel!
Our favorite hotel during our entire Iceland trip! Giant bay windows in the rooms with picturesque views, furnishings were very clean and aesthetic, bathroom was comfortable with all essential amenities. It’s also a 3-min walk to Pakkhus which was one of the best restaurants ever
The location of the hotel was good. The facilities are very good, but I don't know why the gym is designed to be together with the spa and the glass in the middle is transparent, so I always feel that I am being watched when I soak in the spa. Dinner and breakfast were fine, except for the price lol.
Clean modern hotel situated near the entrance to the town. Large room but space mostly in the washroom (if you like big washrooms its great). Breakfast is BIG plus in Iceland, hot cooked American breakfast (bacon, eggs, sauteed mushrooms, bread and toast), lots of juices and milk, three cereals available. Avoid the espresso machine just get the brewed coffee made by the staff. Tea is sachet so dependable. Brilliant stop on the way to the east
Clean, sanitary, comfortable, and friendly staff! The hotel is large, with a sunny gym. I saw the aurora at night in this hotel. Parking is free, and there are many types of breakfast. Excellent
Good hotel, filled with amenities. But the hotel room doesnt have AC and is too hot. Breakfast is alright, from reception to room have to walk through open air and when rain it will be troublesome. It is very near to the city of VIK which there are a few restaurants with good food there. Horse riding as well.
The hotel is in a great location, with a lake and snow-capped mountains behind it, which is very beautiful. I also saw faint aurora at night. The room was clean and hygienic, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was particularly rich and delicious. The front desk service was warm and thoughtful. It was the right choice for this self-driving hotel.

AAnonymous User💯💯💯 recommend Lindartun Guesthouse!
Stayed here for 1 night on 1st October 2024 after our drive to Highlands and got here when it was already dark but i loved the drive to the junction from the main road to the guesthouse.
It was pretty dark around the area which we thought we could be lucky for aurora sightings but it was cloudy. Luckily, I asked the owner when was the last aurora sighting at the guesthouse and she immediately opened her laptop and that’s when I found put there’s aurora forecast website in Iceland. She was the one that let us know there’s higher chance to spot aurora on the upcoming friday due to clear sky.
Oh btw, for our check-in process, when I first arrived and entered the guesthouse, please take off your shoes by the entrance, and go to reception area infront of the kitchen and take the house phone to call the owner.
We booked room no. 5 which cones with a sofa bed and the long toom was so cute and cozy. This is the cutest guesthouse room design among all 13 accoms across the country during our trip. I really loved it a lot as the room was long and spacious.
The common dining area was really nice and big which I didn’t really spend time here. But I used the kitchen the next morning to boil hot water and make myself my hot chocolate and instant mushroom soup.
Worth my money. Will book again if I visit Iceland again next time!
How I’d described it:
Lindartun (Cute Cozy Homey Vibe)
Room Type: 1 Queen Bed + 1 Sofa Bed
Toilet: Private Bathroom (clean and big)
Perks: Nice kitchen and dining area
Thank you for helping me out with my aurora hunting and for maintaining a really cute and nice guesthouse, owner!
GGuest UserThe location is excellent, the hotel service is also very good, and they actively suggest you to watch the aurora. The overall hardware facilities are average, and there is a large-scale construction in progress.
CCHANBest stay in Iceland! We received a super warm welcome upon our arrival. The hosts welcomed us with their homemade chocolate coffee cakes and cookies. The room was lovely and cosy and had an equipped kitchen and also a dining area. The hostel lobby also has a large kitchen where you may use any of the cooking supplies they provided. Each room had an easy access to the backyard with a lit up Christmas tree. The front of the hostel had an outdoor built hot tub for guests to use.
Overall it was exceptionally nice, we loved our stay at The Garage.

PPaizhaodeRogerThe nearest accommodation to the Jiegu Salon Ice Lake, the whole is clean and the room is large. The hotel staff was very welcoming and the room was a bit cold at night, but later we found that we needed to manually adjust the heating temperature.
GGuest UserAttention! If you are considering booking this type of apar**ent or guest house for your trip, be sure! Do not use Ctrip, it is very deceptive. This type of hotel is self-service check-in, and requires a four-digit code, but Ctrip does not provide it at all, and there is no explanation in the email. We were asked to call outside the hotel to check in.
I booked an apar**ent, the room is large, the facilities are complete, and it has a balcony. The only drawback is that the hot water smells a bit strange when taking a shower. Many hotels in Iceland have similar smells, and I don’t know the cause.
GGuest UserA lovely friendly, comfortable hotel on the outskirts of Hvergerdi. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. We don’t get to try the hot tub as we ran out of time. Breakfast is good and the staff friendly. Location is ok..within 40 mins you can be in Reykjavik or in the golden circle route. Vik is about 1.5-2 hours away. Very close to the lava tunnel experience too. There is a Petrol station and some places to eat, shops in the nearby town about 5 mins away

GGuest UserThe room was super warm, and the waiter sister also specially selected a river view room closest to the hot spring for us. It’s great to listen to the sound of running water and soak in the hot spring! It was snowing on the day of check-in, and the hot spring in the snow was really fun. The town is not far from Reykjavik. It is also a big town in Iceland. The transportation is convenient. Although there are not many people, there are still several restaurants. If you are tired of the traditional package of the hotel, you can drive or walk to the restaurant in the town. The next morning, I saw tourists riding horses on the opposite mountain to explore the volcanic spring!
