"Great views! Being located in the desert, sand and dust are definitely unavoidable—whenever you open the doors or windows, a layer of dust settles inside, but this is totally acceptable.
The hotel offers plenty of activities; we could enjoy one dune bashing session per day of our stay, as well as stargazing at night (though this might vary slightly depending on the package).
The dune bashing experience was fantastic, and going at sunset makes it even more breathtaking.
The stargazing guide was very responsible and gave a wonderful presentation. However, there were way too many children, and some were too young to sit still, running around and making noise. It was quite dangerous since it was pitch dark, and it also disrupted the stargazing experience for others.
The staff member who showed us to our room upon check-in needs better training. He mentioned that the minibar was only free for the first round and subsequent restocking would be charged, pointing to a price list in the room ranging roughly from 18 to 38. But in reality, all drinks in the minibar are complimentary and can be restocked, and the fruit is also replenished daily—all for free. The butler really should clarify this to guests via the messaging group.
The butlers in the chat group were fantastic and extremely responsive, with messages answered almost instantly. The staff member who came to light our campfire every evening was also wonderful.
There are lots of desert plants around the hotel; it would be a nice touch to add small labels introducing what each plant is.
Pick-up from the high-speed rail station and drop-off in the downtown area are both free of charge.
The food at the restaurant is just average, though quite decent considering its location in the middle of the desert. Apart from the rather high prices, everything else was acceptable."

"We chose the Kempinski in Yinchuan, and the location is excellent. Across the road are the Ningxia Museum, the Municipal People's Government, the Science and Technology Museum, and the International Convention and Exhibition Center.
Daisy checked us in, upgraded our room type, and gave us access to the executive lounge, making the experience truly fantastic.
We encountered a small issue with the room, and Daisy resolved it very quickly.
The breakfast selection was rich and varied. The executive lounge was excellent; the afternoon tea biscuits were delicious, and the dinner featured a carefully curated menu with comprehensive nutritional elements, both visually appealing and tasty.
Staff in all departments were very responsible, and housekeeping service was also great.
I would definitely recommend it to family and friends."

"The biggest surprise of my trip to Zhongwei was staying at the Xiang Tengger Desert Hotel. Deep in the Tengger Desert, far from the hustle and bustle, the dedicated shuttle service made check-in hassle-free, saving us the trouble of driving into the sand ourselves. The rooms were clean and dry, which is quite rare for a desert environment, and the facilities exceeded our expectations. During the day, we enjoyed playing on the sand dunes, with plenty of activities like sandboarding and other desert adventures that kept the kids entertained. In the evening, we waited for the stunning desert sunset, and after dark, there was a bonfire party and fireworks. Looking up, we could see the brilliant Milky Way – the atmosphere was absolutely incredible. The staff were warm and attentive, quickly resolving any issues we had. Overall, it perfectly blended wilderness adventure with comfort, making it ideal for a family trip. If I ever return to the Zhongwei desert, I'll definitely stay here again."

"I wholeheartedly recommend this desert hotel, it's perfect for family trips! The experience was truly outstanding.
The room was spacious and bright, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. The location is superb, right on the edge of the vast desert. In the afternoons, we could easily climb sand dunes and watch the sunset. My kids spent every day playing happily in the sand, they didn't want to leave.
After checking in, the hotel added us to an exclusive WeChat group, which made it super convenient for daily inquiries and requests. I have to specifically praise their heartwarming service: I accidentally lost my DJI Pocket 3 while out and about. I was already disheartened and about to give up, but I decided to ask in the group. To my surprise, someone had found it quickly! The staff immediately secured it and personally delivered it to me. The joy of getting it back was indescribable. Their honesty and efficiency were truly commendable, giving us a complete sense of security.
The restaurant's food exceeded our expectations; the home-style dishes were perfectly to our taste. My child specifically asked for stir-fried tomato and eggs for two consecutive days, and finished every single bite, leaving no leftovers. The hotel offers a wide range of desert activities. We tried the Bombardier ATV, and the slight sensation of weightlessness was just right – thrilling yet fun. The various desert recreational activities kept us busy and content throughout our stay.

Zhongwei Shapotou Airport and Shapotou Railway Station are located 17km and 21km away respectively. This hotel is located near many of Zhongwei's attractions including Shapotou Tourist Scenic Area Time-Space Gate, Shapotou Starlit Sky Snow Park and Shapotou Desert Legend. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site. According to our guests, the location of this hotel is one of the best around. For guests traveling with families, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.
"Double tickets for Shapotou Scenic Area: The tickets were included, which was very convenient. The hotel dropped us off directly at the scenic area, and we just used the scenic area's own bus 🚌 to get around.
Facilities: After comparing with other hotels, we chose Xingxing Hotel because it included both scenic area tickets and meals. Our child could also play in the sand right outside.
Environment: I haven't been to other hotels, but we hired an external pick-up/drop-off for our travel photography, and it felt like other hotels would probably be similar.
Service: I'm not sure what to say, but the pick-up/drop-off and dining services were decent. We booked the rooms in advance. At the time, there were no twin rooms available, so we booked one room type for one night. The first night we stayed in a family room, and the second night in a twin room. On the day of check-in, I saw twin rooms available online and asked if we could switch to avoid changing rooms. The hotel front desk said it wasn't easy to change the order, and I just thought I didn't want to bother anyone, so I didn't push it. However, when we arrived, it was dinner time, and the front desk only told us that both restaurants were available for dining. So, we had dinner at the nearby B area. The next day, when we went to the A area for dinner, we were told we needed to pay an extra 40 yuan per person. We really wasted 80 yuan. With such a high room rate, the hotel was not at all user-friendly. Bad review.

"When checking in, the staff member Monica was incredibly efficient and friendly. She even went out of her way to recommend some fun places to visit nearby. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was so soft and comfortable, it felt like being wrapped in a cloud. The bathroom facilities were also new, and the toiletries were of good quality. I really enjoyed the tea bags in the room; they had a lovely sweet flavor, and having a huge bathtub was a definite plus!"

"My stay at Anmo Hotel far exceeded my expectations. The room was spotless and well-equipped. From the window, I could see the Helan Mountains, with the main peak of WoFo Mountain visible right from my bed. The huge terrace, combined with the sweet grape scent in the room, immediately immersed me in a serene, mountainous atmosphere.
The hotel was exceptionally quiet. At night, I could gaze at the starry sky, and in the morning, wake up to the sound of birds. It's located right next to the Turandot Wine Town, with wine elements everywhere. I tried their Turandot Marselan Dry Red [Warm], which had rich fruit aromas intertwined with violet floral notes – a single sip brought the terroir of the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain to life.
During my visit, I unexpectedly saw a white Zhangxue motorcycle whiz by, which was a delightful surprise on my journey. The concierge service was attentive and thoughtful; they approached me from a distance to help with my luggage to the room and meticulously explained the in-room facilities. When I encountered them later, they even proactively guided me to the garage. The front desk check-in was efficient and friendly.
Mountain breezes, fine wine, and a good night's sleep – I'll definitely choose this place again on my next trip to Helan Mountain."

"This desert hotel completely exceeded expectations! Staying at the staggered peak to enjoy the whole desert secret, waiting for the sunset to shine soft light on the sky in the evening, the sand dunes were dyed orange by the sunset. At night, the bonfire was burning, the fireworks were blooming, and the vast galaxy was looking up. It was really shocking to see the stars with the naked eye! The room is clean and comfortable. It is rare to have such perfect facilities in the desert. The children directly let go of themselves to play in the sand and don't want to leave. The staff is intimate and thoughtful, and the whole experience is full! Come to Zhongwei Tengri's first choice, will come again next time!"

"Extremely satisfied with this trip! The hostess contacted us in advance, and her attitude was thoughtful and lovely. She informed us that the room might not be big enough and upgraded us, also asking if we'd like to order meals. Since our itinerary was quite tight, we didn't order food this time, but we should definitely try it next time.
The B&B's environment was a wonderful surprise, located amidst a large vineyard. A short bike ride away, the entire Helan Mountain range appears before your eyes. The restaurant also offers an unbeatable view. The tour of the winery was a nice addition too.
Overall, there's so much waiting for everyone to discover. I regret only booking for one day; a more leisurely stay would have been even better."

Good value for money, friendly, helpful night staff, no language problem, easy and trouble free foreign friendly. The feedback is based on my room and my overall experience. The room was very clean, newish super clear, bright lights bathroom, with very nice shower. The beds are a bit hard but nothing major, very quite, small but manageable parking space, despite my car being a big. It was one night experience, short but pleasant with lots of food option but the front doors of the hotel. Which very convenient. Definitely recommend unfortunately, I forgot to take some pictures. ThumbsUp 👍

After we arrived, we called. I didn’t expect the housekeeper to pick us up in seconds. After that, every time we needed to enter and exit, we could provide pick-up and drop-off immediately. Every time I also ask to pay attention to safety and play, like like like 👍🏻
The hotel can sandboard, you can also participate in desert activities, riding camels, go-karting, motorcycles, etc., very convenient!
Booked 2 types of rooms, 270-degree space warehouse and tent, the beds in the room are comfortable and dry 👍🏻

Guest UserI stayed in an air-conditioned cabin without a private bathroom this time. It was cleaner than I expected. I'd recommend bringing a pair of flip-flops for the shared showers. Other amenities like toothbrushes and towels were disposable, which was great. Getting a taxi was difficult, but the host was incredibly thoughtful and came to pick us up. There was a bonfire party in the evening, and they set off fireworks like there was no tomorrow! Watching the stars and fireworks in the desert was absolutely beautiful!

We wish to give our deepest gratitude to all the staff especially the front desk ladies in this lovely hotel. The moment we entered the hotel we were greeted with warm hospitality and welcoming smiles. The lady assisted us with our travels by giving us tips on getting around using the public transport. Upon checking into the clean, spacious and comfortable room, we requested for two pairs of bathroom slippers. We are deeply moved when the aunty cleaner lady came back with two pairs of new rubber slippers. She was assigned to go to the nearest store to buy the two pairs of slippers. Thank you again.
We slept very well for three nights here.
The laundry room has two washing machines and two dryers, perfect for hotel guests.
The breakfast was superb. For three days continuously, they served a variety of food. Another perfect💯 score for the kitchen staff as well as the hardworking staff in the dining room who ensured that the food served is always sufficient for hotel guests.
The location of the hotel is also great as it is easy to move around using public bus as well as taxis. The surrounding areas also have lots of eating shops and restaurants.
Thank you to all of you in this lovely hotel for making our stay in Zhongwei so memorable.

The room was wonderfully spacious and spotlessly clean. There was plenty of room to relax, and the housekeeping team clearly does an immaculate job.
The service was truly outstanding. Every member of the staff provided wonderful, friendly, and excellent service from the moment I checked in until the moment I left. They genuinely cared about making my stay comfortable.
If you are looking for a comfortable, pristine room and top-tier hospitality, look no further!

The hotel is large, has many rooms, and is actually full. Business is very good. This is inseparable from the hotel's location, service and price!
The location is perfect: the hotel is located in the city center, 600 to 700 meters away from Wanda Plaza. There is a fruit supermarket next to it. The ”Yisheng Shou” where you can eat hand-made sheep is only 100 meters away... In short, it is very convenient to eat and order takeout.
Attentive service: Call the front desk and the problem can be solved immediately. The room cleaning staff cleaned up the leftovers from our morning meal as soon as they arrived at work at 8:30 in the morning.

HuniuerxiaoleI chose this hotel because of the free airport pickup and drop-off service, which was a decisive factor for me. The butler contacted us in advance and arranged the pickup, even sending us a small guide and restaurant recommendations, which were all very clear. The hotel environment is also excellent, the driver was very friendly, and the room was super comfortable. I do have a small suggestion though: there seemed to be too few trash cans. It would be much more convenient if the small tabletop bins were replaced with larger ones. The hotel breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and there was also complimentary late-night congee available, so if you don't feel like going out in the evening, you can easily have a satisfying meal here. The surroundings of the hotel are also lovely; on a clear night, you can even enjoy moon gazing. Overall, I give my stay a full 5 stars.

With the high temperatures in Suzhou and Hangzhou, this is a great escape to the heat in the northwest, featuring a lovely guesthouse village. Nan'an is the largest guesthouse complex in the area, with 40 rooms out of a total of 100. This time, we stayed at Taojiaying West House, with a swimming pool in front and a farm/ranch/ranch in the back – very pleasant. The room details were also very well done, suitable for large families or groups of friends.
Both restaurants in the village are good for breakfast: 🌻Xiangke (more variety),
🍜Lao Wang Ji Breakfast & Midnight Canteen. Special praise to Nan'an's management team, including Da Yuan and her group; they communicated with us before our arrival and were very attentive. During our stay, our drone got stuck in a tree in the yard, and the management team helped us find a solution from evening until morning, finally fixing it with a tree trunk over ten meters long.
- Climb the Great Wall (five-minute climb to the top) for panoramic views of the Yellow River and the village.
- Feeding lambs, riding camels, milking goats.
I call it the Yellow River version of ”Wuzhen Village”; the entire village has an integrated design with a Mediterranean feel, perfect for photos.
