This is a relatively new hotel and just off the Highway in Morgantown. I stayed here overnight to attend a football game at West Virginia University. The hotel does not provide shuttle service. You can get a taxi or Uber. The reception was friendly and prompt. Packets of popcorn, flavored water, and cookies were offered at a table in the lobby. They were complimentary. My room had great views of Morgantown, the mountains and the river. The bed was firm for a good night's sleep. Bathroom was large enough. The sheets and linens were fresh and plenty of towels. There is a small indoor pool, an exercise room and weights room. The patio has many outdoor sofas to enjoy the views and perhaps BBQ in the summer. Many of the guests seemed like they came for the game. Breakfast is standard courtyard with the crispy roasted potatoes that I like. All in all a good stay at this hotel. There are lots of malls around the hotel and you could perhaps walk out for dinner.

This is a mid/high rise Marriott located at the foot of the hills in downtown Morgantown. If you are familiar with the Marriott brand, it follows the blueprint of some of the more recent renovations for their full service properties--carpet is out, hardwood floors are in. Personally, I like that approach. The rooms on each end of the main corridor appear to be larger than the rest; we had one of those and it was quite spacious. It was well equipped with some seating areas and a desk. If you are looking for lots of freebies like breakfast, don't stay in a full service hotel. There are plenty of mid-tier and budget hotels in Morgantown. This is a nicer property with higher quality materials, and if you want food, you're paying for it; just like every other full service Marriott, Hilton, etc. There is an adjacent parking garage; be warned it is a bit of a haul through the convention center corridor to get to it. (By the way, the convention center isn't renovated, and you can tell what the decor must have been for this Marriott not long ago too). The WVU Downtown Visitor's Center is across the courtyard, and some of the downtown campus buildings are nearby. I didn't try the restaurant, but there is a ”real” full service Starbucks in the lobby that we did use. Overall this is a nice property. For my night, the cost was a bit higher than some of the other options, but it was still a fair price for the quality of the hotel.

I recently stayed at the SpringHill Suites and had a fantastic experience. The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. However, what really stood out to me was the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast selection was impressive, with a variety of hot and cold items available. The food was fresh and delicious, and there was something for everyone. It was a great way to start the day and made my stay even more enjoyable. Our home had major plumbing issues and we had to evacuate for over 1 week! I thought it would be easy to find several affordable quality/clean hotels in the Morgantown area. Um.... nope.....Most were ridiculously expensive or an outright dump. Then I saw the Suburban Extended Stay. It had pretty good reviews but was just outside of Morgantown in Sabraton. (older town, a little run down, not as nice as Morgantown). We decided to give it a try. It was one of the cheapest options but holy cow! Excellent place. Very Clean. Staff is more than helpful. Cleaning folks were the nicest we have ever met (please tip them they deserve it). I think all the rooms even have kitchenettes (all 3 of our rooms did). At one point during our stay, some inconsiderate guests were staying above us on the 4th floor and really loud. I decided to say something to the front desk the next day and due to other complaints those fools were asked to leave the property! Now that's what I am talking about. I also like how they txt you everyday to make sure all is well. Its not a canned text either. I responded back with a suggestion and they got right back to me. Seriously this place is worth every penny. almost all the guests were very nice too. They are Pet friendly with a dog walking/pooping area. The hotel itself sits back off of the main road so its a little tricky to find but look for the Shoneys then drive right behind it. If I had to pick one negative, I guess it would be the in and out Oilfield worker/ guests. They are hard working and quiet for the most part but stink up the elevators with paraffin and other oil and gas type smells. Sorry but I am a 20 year Oil & Gas retiree myself so I can say whatever the hell I want about them. Thank you for your service though!
