I stayed there three times over the last several years and will come back again. The hotel is clean, very comfortable, provides excellent half-board (upscale-level dining). The ambiance of high mountains in incredible. There are numerous hiking and climbing options around. For those in excellent shape, it is an alternative to Hornlihutte for climbing Matterhorn: the lower altitude (2600m vs 3250m) assures a better sleep quality and it's only about 1.5h extra time in the morning. A word of caution: the altitude (2600m) might become a problem for sensitive people.

The train was stopped due to strong winds, so there was no access to the hotel. The hotel quickly emailed me with suggestions for alternative hotels.
I was able to stay at a partner hotel for the same price. However, the alternative hotel plan was cheaper than the room I paid for, so I am not satisfied with the price.
We couldn't do anything about the weather, but I'm glad they responded quickly.
It seems that trains sometimes stop due to weather. The hotel can only be reached by train from Zermatt.

I was charged for an additional 288 Swiss FR for “additional guest”. when I checked out. only because I did not put My Son’s name when I did the booking, but I booked a twin room and my son naturally stay with me. not to mention he’s my 13 year old son. they can charge me for additional breakfast. That’s totally OK. but additional person for twin room?really? And Main thing I was not told I will be charged when I checked in. That is not fair I will reflect this to Swiss tourism office.
Btw. The staff are 100% good. Very friendly but I am sickened by the strange policy.

Tannenhof is well located near the Murmeltierbrunnen (groundhog fountain), next to Zermatterhof Hotel. The building is very modern in inside to a high standard. The rooms and beds were superb, with a great shower. The only star I deducted was the sporadic service at breakfast and poor communication. The young lady briefed with restocking breakfast and clearing tables was a little reluctant, but could be persuaded. I had sent a message to the hotel months in advance and asked for one of our rooms to be made up with twin beds. I even had a friendly confirmation back. On arrival however, no notice could be found and both rooms had double beds. Not a major thing, but a hotel in this category and price range should be able to deal with this. Also on our arrival, the restaurant was closed for the day (it was open again the next day). Again, no notice was given to us. Out of the many messages I was sent by Tannenhof to check in online beforehand, none indicated a closed dinner option at the hotel. Again, not a major thing, but something that wasn’t aligned with rest of the luxurious ambience at Tannenhof.

This was our first visit to Zermatt and the Bausite Hotel. We reserved a corner room and received it. The view was spectacular (clear sight to the Matterhorn mountain). The Breakfast buffet was outstanding and plentiful. Freshly squeezed Orange juice daily available. The restaurant is innovative and the food delicious. We used the pool available with 2 jacuzzis. The beds with plenty of pillows are very comfortable. Bathroom is spacious. We certainly can recommend this hotel which has a great location.

At the time of reservation, this was the only place I could find a place to stay, so I made a reservation and it was great. The location is not far from Zermatt Station and is on the main street of Zermatt, so it was easy to access anywhere. The room was very clean and had a balcony, so I was able to enjoy the best relaxation before checking out. I don't know if the breakfast was simple because it was Zermatt, but it was light enough to enjoy. I want to go there again.

That is the fantastic hotel in Zermatt; the service and facility are excellent, and the room has a good view of the mountain and Matterhorn. The price of the room is already included the swimming pool and gym and Sauna, that is the excellent price that gives you the service. I will book this hotel again.

The train ride from Grindelwald to Zermatt was beautiful, there was a seamless bus transfer from Visp to Täsch due to the June floods. Bruno at reception was great and replied emails promptly, arranged a shuttle van / buggy for us at the train station (alight at the designated Hotel Shuttle area). Also a free phone booth to call hotel shuttle too at station. Our duplex room on the 4th floor between 405-408 has a jaw dropping view of the Matterhorn from our twin balconies, which is great when taking sunrise photos of the famous crimson mountaintop view at 5:50am. Room was spotless and nicely furnished, lots of Power plugs, modern bathrooms with large jacuzzi, beds are v comfortable. Spacious cabinets for clothes and gears. Slippers and bath robes. Conveniently located within walking distance to town and local bus stops. Breakfast is included and nice choices (eggs and omelette and pancakes are cooked at request). We didn’t try the pool and sauna. No aircon but ok to sleep with open windows since there are drapes (like fly screens), also cool at night. the Gornergrat train track is located next to the hotel , but not noisy at all. There is a guest toilet at entrance too. The extra bed for my child is v comfortable. Right opposite the Sunegga station for skiing. For day trips to Matterhorn paradise or Gornergrat , just 8-9min walk or use the free bus service under the bridge.

The staff are very friendly and will provide all kinds of assistance, including if you need transportation to the train station 2 minutes away :)
The location of this hotel is very convenient, right next to the train station, about 2 minutes' walk on a small road. There are co-op, McDonald's, etc. nearby, so you don't need to worry about eating. It is also very close to Station Street, where there are various clothing and accessories stores, which is also a good place for shopping.
As for getting to various attractions, it is also very convenient. Next to the hotel's alley exit is the station to Gornergrat and the bus stop to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. There is a small road behind the hotel, and you can reach the cable car station for Five Lakes Hiking in a few minutes after leaving.
Breakfast has many choices and tastes good.
This hotel has free SPA and Yoga courses, but I was in a hurry on this trip and didn’t try them.
It was a very good stay experience!

The hotel is very nice, the service is also very good, they can send us to the station for free. It is very close to supermarkets, stations and other places, just a few minutes walk away. The hotel also upgraded our room for free, and you can see the Matterhorn from the balcony, which is very beautiful. The hotel facilities are also very complete, with swimming pools, entertainment facilities and SPA. Highly recommended!

The Phone-call for Shuttle service Back and Forth pick up from the Station was quick precise and done with a smile by the porters,the receptionist in the check in was so fast,informative,professional and welcoming aswell as the others staff of the whole hotel. we would highly recommend the place to others, specially the room we got from the receptionist that is 803, The room itself was so huge with some free coffes and tea and that the Comfort room downstairs was so huge it literally was double the size of my other hotel rooms in Switzerland, For this 2023 trip. The amenities is awesome specially after a long hike on the hills and you only wanted to relax your body Then The spa and pool Are there for you. The breakfast was cool and have different varieties that you may choose from, for cold or warm food. and a minor adjustment maybe in arrangement of the food and making sure that the expose area around the food plates is always cleaned and maintained for the next batch of breakfast eater.. I’ll post some videos or picture when i get my computer up and running. But Zermatt budget rooms.. see ya in the future..

GGuest UserThe Matterhornlodge is located about a 5-10 min walk from the Zermatt station.
We arrived at about 1pm and were informed that check-in was only at 2pm so we went for lunch and returned at around 2.30pm. We were greeted by Ruth, the proprietress of the hotel, who gave us a comprehensive briefing of the house rules and policies. Ruth was very warm, friendly, and charming; she was very guest-focused and was happy to find out more about where we were from and what we planned to do. Ruth even gave us recommendations for Bern when we told her we were going there next.
Although the hotel is stated to be 4 stars, we were very impressed by the room and the amenities. The bathroom came with a bidet and the toiletries provided were of good quality. The room was also very spacious with enough room to open up 2 luggage bags. The towels and robes were thick, warm, and fluffy.
The breakfast provided in the morning was also quite good with a decent selection of breads, cold cuts, cheese, and eggs.
At checkout, Ruth also gave us a complimentary ride to the train station in her electric vehicle.
All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Matterhornlodge and we were very impressed by Ruth’s hospitality.

We stayed three nights at the Mirabeau and absolutely loved everything about it! Our room was wonderful for the 4 of us and had an incredible Matterhorn view. The hotel has a great little bar and the bartenders were fantastic and personable. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful with local recommendations, and especially helpful with the return of an item we had left at a restaurant in Findeln while hiking. The breakfast was good. The hotel has a pool which was great for the kids. A fantastic experience all around and if I ever get back to Zermatt, I will be staying at the Mirabeau!

However, need to take note that their reception will only be there till 10pm. It’s actually stated but I didn’t read it so when I arrived Zermatt train station at 11pm, I panicked a little. We flag down the taxi at my own cost, 18chf for 3 people and luggages, they dont provide free taxi after 10pm. Also, the entrance door will be closed/locked after 10pm, we rang the bell and the door opened and they left the key with a letter on the counter for the check in.
The breakfast place is also overlooking the Matterhorn and it’s so pretty. Stayed for only 1 night but really enjoyed my stay there!

GGuest UserGreat hotel Don’t expect luxury but given the price point you know this already The rooms are small but functional with everything you need for your stay including a great coffee machine that’s topped up daily. Breakfast is well beyond what I was expecting and had cereals, meats, yoghurts, breads, cheeses, sausages, eggs and probably much more! Plus more really good coffee! Located 5 minutes walk to Bayard ski rental, and an additional 1 minute to the Gornergrat railway taking you up onto the slopes From the hotel, you can be on the train in under 10 minutes. Staff are really helpful and allowed us to keep our bags there on the last day even though we’d checked out. There’s a quick lift to all floors. I would highly recommend the hotel if your plans are to ski all day, go out on an evening and use it as a place to sleep. Would certainly return

Front desk people were knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend Albana Real hotel for anyone. Breakfast food was great and we had three meals here, one in each of three different specialities. Location was also very good, but in Zurmatt no location is poor

HHong AVery amazed by the level of automation in the hotel! Check-in was seamless even though it was just an iPad. We needed to pay a tourist tax via an online link prior to arrival but we were abit wary given the number of online scams nowadays - perhaps it’ll be better to charge everything up front?
There was free coffee available as well, which was a huge plus. The room was amazing, spotlessly clean, sufficiently big, had a balcony, comfortable bed. One of the staff (a guy) allowed us to put our luggage in the room early even though we could only encode our card after 3pm. He even helped us make a reservation at Du Pont as we didn’t have a Swiss number, thanks very much!
The hotel is a 10min walk from the main train station, though there are free buses which can shorten the journey. We just walked as it was faster.
We were in Swiss for 2 weeks and this hotel is definitely the best accommodation we had - for a very good price as well!

GGuest UserDon’t think that the mountain view room is just for seeing the Matterhorn. The town itself is surrounded by mountains. It is 10 minutes away from the train station. I saw the church passing the cemetery. HHussain RWe stayed in the first floor apartment in this brand new building. The apartment which accommodates six guests, covers the entire first floor. The apartment is surrounded by balconies and a huge terrace directly facing the Matterhorn. Two bedrooms and the kitchen/dining overlook the river. The sound of the river is really seductive! The third bedroom overlooks the terrace and has a huge modern ensuite bathroom. The apartment has been done to an extremely high standard. The kitchen is huge, modern and well equipped. The three bathrooms have been done with modern design and tasteful finishes. There is a washing machine/dryer in the apartment which is extremely convenient. The location of the building is very central with easy access to the train station and all touristic and sports attractions. Many restaurants are within meters away. Our stay was made most comfortable by the constant attentive service provided by Ms. Alessandra who takes extra care and does not spare any effort to make her guests enjoy a memorable vacation. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserAs an “older” hotel and often used by skiers it serves “short stays” well. The entry way is off the Main Street and rather difficult to notice as there is a rather narrow short stairway leading up to a small entry. There’s also no lift in the 4 story building. A smaller than normal staircase in the building makes getting suitcases a real chore. I spent the rather daunting task of walking around to one of the other hotels and asking. Even the girl at Grampi’s Pizza right next store did not know. 🤪🤪🤪 The staff does an okay job of keeping it clean. Bedding leaves a little to be desired. But having noted the downside of the hotel it has its ‘perks’ of being just a short 8 minute stroll from the train station and right in the middle of the shopping district. Location, location, location. The included breakfast is good and Rosa makes you welcome with her smile every day.
