The family run hotel promoted their sustainability ethos, in the choice of building materials and the food provided at breakfast. Very helpful staff went out of their way to ensure a great stay.

The room faces the Matterhorn, is clean and tidy, the facilities are quite new, the front desk service is very enthusiastic, the breakfast is a bit simple, overall it is very good and satisfactory

Hotel is Great. Breakfast is included in your stay. The rooms are gorgeous and with an amazing matterhorn view from our room. The spa and sauna were also amazing. All staffs were very helpful.

The Matterhornlodge is located about a 5-10 min walk from the Zermatt station.
We arrived at about 1pm and were informed that check-in was only at 2pm so we went for lunch and returned at around 2.30pm. We were greeted by Ruth, the proprietress of the hotel, who gave us a comprehensive briefing of the house rules and policies. Ruth was very warm, friendly, and charming; she was very guest-focused and was happy to find out more about where we were from and what we planned to do. Ruth even gave us recommendations for Bern when we told her we were going there next.
Although the hotel is stated to be 4 stars, we were very impressed by the room and the amenities. The bathroom came with a bidet and the toiletries provided were of good quality. The room was also very spacious with enough room to open up 2 luggage bags. The towels and robes were thick, warm, and fluffy.
The breakfast provided in the morning was also quite good with a decent selection of breads, cold cuts, cheese, and eggs.
At checkout, Ruth also gave us a complimentary ride to the train station in her electric vehicle.
All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Matterhornlodge and we were very impressed by Ruth’s hospitality.

This is the best hotel we stayed for the whole trip, you won't go wrong to stay here. Very friendly staff and the room is very clean, beautiful patio with flowers around. Very lovely place to stay. Love it!

Wow! Fantastically cozy and quiet spot in the heart of Zermatt. Super Swiss hospitality from the amazing and wonderful manager/hostess/Assistant Director who also has an excellent responsive team. You will love it! They have created a great ski lodge feel and provide great helpful, friendly service. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. They also have studios available with kitchenettes. Beautiful flower boxes - it is hard to walk past this place without taking pictures of the hotel or the Matterhorn and Zermatt Chapel. This is our home away from home in Zermatt. Highly Recommend!
