Super 8 by Wyndham Yreka
4.1/5103 Reviews
After reading reviews of so many other hotels/motels in Yreka that had enough reviews from people who had reservations about wholeheartedly recommending them, I saw just 8 reviews of this motel and they were all very good. So, we decided to take a chance. We were not disappointed. We are pretty sure the room had been recently renovate and all furnishing, bedding, towels, frig and microwave were all in excellent condition. The room is not carpeted which means it is very easy for them to keep it clean. In fact, I put my yoga mat on the floor in the morning and could not even see a speck of dust under the bed. Our room was closest to but not next to the office (Room 104?) The office has exterior lighting at night which did not shine into the room too much because the curtains were blackout curtains and hung perfectly so they did not open up in the middle when you closed them. However, if you prefer a darker area, I would suggest you request a room in the darker part of the motel. The check in staff was very kind and efficient as was the morning staff when we ate breakfast and checked out. The breakfast included cooked oatmeal, make-your-own waffles, some yogurts, a toaster with various breads, some fresh fruits, good coffee, tea, etc. The breakfast room was very clean. Lastly, there is a great parking lot with plenty of room for you to park near your room and a number of large spots in the middle for tractor trailer trucks. This hotel should definitely be on the Big Rig TripAdvisor website if there is one.
Klamath Motor Lodge

This is, without doubt, my favorite place to Stay in California. It's simple and low-budget, but the rooms are always spotless and well-appointed. The wireless is fast, and I've never had a single problem in over 10 years of staying here every year. Beds are comfy and you get two different grades of pillow, just like fancier places. Housekeeping are efficient and done early in the day if you're staying a while. There are always plenty of spaces to park, even when it's full. It also doesn't look like they take long-term residents, so you don't have to worry about the usual sketchy denizens of budget motels. Despite being located close to the main street and not too far from the interstate, it's quiet both inside and outside the rooms. I have to highlight breakfast, as while it's the usual simple muffins, toast, and cereal, and you have to take it back to your room, the coffee is excellent (a really welcome change), and they actually have Marmalade available to go with your toast or muffins. At this point, I think I've stayed in the Klamath Motor Lodge for around 50 nights since 2014, and will continue to book this every time I'm in town. During that time the management appears to have passed to the previous owner's son, but he has maintained the standards and is possibly even nicer to deal with on the counter. TVs have also been replaced a couple of times in those 10 years, so this is not a place where you encounter old broken down stuff.

Unless absolutely necessary I would not recommend staying here. The room was very clearly not cleaned. We had to request a broom to sweep our own room. We also had to wipe the counter down to remove all the beard hair trimmings. There was hair in the shower drain, hair on the towels and sheets. Our feet were black from walking on the floor. The breakfast seems like it is going to be this amazing hot breakfast but they were out of everything advertised. Very little of anything else. If you just need a quick 1 night stop over and don't mind feeling dirty and having to wear shoes or socks in your room and probably don't need to shower then you would probably be ok. Staff did not offer any type of compensation and while the girl at the front was friendly, she was not very professional. Staff at check out was not professional and did not seem to care or seem surprised that I asked for the manager's information to request a refund. I would give a zero rating if able.
Holiday Inn Express Yreka-Shasta Area
4.3/598 Reviews
My initial experience here was problematic. The room I was given had a very stale smell and the air conditioner/heater made a screeching sound when it shut off. I asked for a different room and the front desk immediately complied with my request. The new room I received had just been cleaned and smelled heavily of bleach, but the room was definitely clean! The room was good and comfortable with usual amenities of small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, TV. There was also a small safe for valuables. The hotel is in Yreka next to the intersate. There is no access directly via the interstate, drivers must go to the back of the property to gain access which may be inititally confusing. Undoubtedly, this hotel is the best in Yreka. It is in close proximity to main street (a mile or so) which has various fast food and some restaurants. The hotel also sells soft drinks, snacks, ice cream and even a few frozen dinners to guests. The complimentary breakfast is really good too! Eggs, bacon, cereals, cinnamon rolls, omelets, pancakes, sausages, coffee, juices. It was very fresh and plentiful. Desk staff is very friendly and helpful. Can't go wrong with this Holiday Inn Express-Yreka/Shasta.
