Overall not a bad motel in Yoakum. Rooms were mostly clean, floor a little grimy, appears not to be mopped with clean water. Beds were comfortable, pillows average. Coffee in room, Typical breakfast for this price range motel. Do not go swimming in the pool as the water is very GREEN. For being in the summer unacceptable.

My first two attempts to reserve the room failed. Assuming it was an internet traffic issue, I decided to wait a day and try again. In the meantime my plans changed and I successfully made a reservation through AAA travel for the day after the original attempted reservation. I checked in on May 1 and on that day, the hotel charged me a "no-show" charge of almost $100. When we checked in the floors hadn't been swept or mopped, the coffee service hadn't been reset and, in fact, there was a used coffee bag in the coffee maker.  The microwave had been used and not wiped clean.  The bathtub had an oil dirt ring, there was no soap dish at the sink except for a large tray used to hold three small bottles of opened lotion, shampoo and conditioner and only three bath towels were set in the bathroom.  The first. day they didn't clean the room until late afternoon when I specifically asked. I let them know we needed a complete set of new linens on one of the beds because our toddler had peed through a pull-up and they only changed the sheets then re-made the bed with the coverlet and blanket from the floor.  They took the used towels that were on the floor in the bathroom but didn't replace them with fresh towels.  They didn't reset the drink tray, no coffee, no styro-cups, no drinking cups and no napkin/stirrer packs. The following day they didn't even go into the room though we'd asked for fresh towels and coffee re-set in the morning when we left for the day's activities.  When we arrived at the hotel in the evening, the key card didn't work; we went to the front desk twice only to find that the key reader in the door was bad or had a dead battery. When the door was opened with a hard key retained by the night manager, we discovered the beds had not been made, the used towels not taken away and no services had been reset. For the rest of our stay, approximately 18 hours, we had to go to the reception desk to be let back into the room. When I realized I had been charged a no-show fee, I called the hotel, spoke with Miranda? and left a message for the manager, Cassie, to call. After five days, the manager has failed to reach out to me. 1/10, do not recommend.

The hotel was very nice and offered microwave / refrigerator / A comfortable bed. Miranda checked me in and gave me all the information about the room and rates. Cassy very helpful and pleasant and gave us our key for the room and was a good host at breakfast time when we were checking out . I would return at this hotel. Great location and nice rooms.

My husband and I have stayed in this hotel many times. We understand a room could be overlooked, but but finding an inch of black mold in a toilet means it has not been cleaned! When we walked into our room it smelled like hairspray, the hair dryer was lying on the bathroom counter and the bath towels were not stacked neatly, but used and quickly folded. I took a folded wash cloth off the towel rack and found it had brown makeup(not a stain because it rubbed off on a Kleenex). There is mold in the bathtub plus the bathtub shower doesn’t drain, meaning it is probably clogged with hair. The bed linens are stained and we found hair and a sandy dirt in the area where you put your feet..bottom of the fitted sheet. I walked around in my socks because the floor was also gritty and my when I took off my socks to get in bed, my white socks were brown on the bottom. The staff here is very friendly and they are helpful. We hold the owner of this property responsible for the cleaning business side of this hotel…it is the owners responsibility to make sure the people who work for you have the right tools to do the job, clear expectations, and are compensated fairly.

The room was clean and recently updated. The first room we were given smelled like smoke so we were given another. At night it turns into a parking lot party. The staff does nothing about. Thank goodness we had our dog with us because we did not feel safe. The party outside and in the room next to us continued until after 1 and we could hear through the walls them commenting on “they have a dog.” Oh and breakfast had the worst coffee we have ever tasted and just had waffles and cereal with no milk. And oatmeal cream cookies if that’s your thing. We immediately left at 8 am. Drive to another town.

We stay at this motel a few times a year, we were just there a few days ago and was disappointed. We had to have a handicap room because my wife is now in a wheelchair. The only safety bar in the shower was broken. The inside of the dresser drawers were dirty with cobwebs. I want pleased at all. Will be staying in another city on our next trip

We take our high school baseball team here pretty often. They are great and super helpful with ever for our kids. Rooms are clean and breakfast is good for feeding our kids. Would definitely recommend

My family spent 2 days in Yoakum & needed a place for overnight. Black Gold Inn did not disappoint. The desk clerks were very friendly, helpful, & accommodating. The price was reasonable, and the rooms were super clean. The only drawback was breakfast. The work crew that went in before us wiped out most of the food so there wasn't much left to choose from. Overall, it was a great stay and we wouldn't hesitate to book there again.

Upon arrival everything seemed good and location was great. I was on a business trip and read reviews on other hotels. This one had the best reviews. The only problem with my room, and probably was only my room, the toilet seat was broken and not repaired during my stay. I am headed back weekly for possible a month or so, this did not deter my staying at this hotel.
