Yangzhou State Guesthouse
9.5 (15,780 reviews)

Yangzhou State Guesthouse ★★★★★

📍 No. 48 Shouxihu Road, Hanjiang District, Yangzhou

"Building 18 is fully equipped and very well-maintained. The room itself is spacious, and the minibar is well-stocked and spotless. Although the balcony faces a road, the soundproofing is excellent, so you barely hear any noise. The breakfast offers a wide selection, and Quyuan Teahouse truly lives up to its reputation. The hotel's public areas are elegant and serene, and a small gate leads directly to Xu Garden at Slender West Lake, which is incredibly convenient. The service is warm, attentive, and prompt. I'd likely choose to stay here again next time. 👍"

📍 No. 899 Ankang Road, Guangling District, Yangzhou

"The staff were very friendly and attentive, carefully accommodating our room requests. The room itself was well soundproofed and the environment was quiet. However, the hotel is a bit of a walk from Dongguan Street, but getting a taxi is very convenient."

Shangri-La Hotel Yangzhou
9.5 (5,325 reviews)

Shangri-La Hotel Yangzhou ★★★★★

📍 No. 472 Wenchang West Road, Hanjiang District, Yangzhou

"Overall, the hotel is okay, but the service definitely falls short. As a Michelin one-star restaurant, Shang Palace should ensure that at least one server is within the guest's line of sight and easily callable. Restaurants in Shanghai with a similar per-person cost to a Michelin one-star offer far superior service to Shang Palace. In comparable restaurants, there's always at least one staff member nearby, and some even lower-priced establishments manage this. My side plates were never changed during the meal (even when nearly full), and dirty dishes were left untouched unless I specifically called a waiter (and even then, only some were cleared). In Shanghai, restaurants of the same caliber and price point would clear plates without being asked, why would I need to call someone? Honestly, if the staff were more attentive with changing plates and clearing dishes, I wouldn't have to call them over. I hope the hotel addresses this. I believe these are basic expectations for a Michelin one-star restaurant and those in a similar price bracket (or higher). I'm not nitpicking; just come to Shanghai and experience it for yourself. However, the food was delicious. The stir-fried shredded eel (like soft-shelled turtle) in the couple's set menu was particularly good. The front desk staff also gave off a vibe of wanting to go home. The chef at breakfast, who was making fried eggs, was incredibly slow for two days in a row (not sure if it was the same person). They insisted on finishing whatever they were doing before making my eggs, and even then, my sunny-side-up eggs were overcooked. The cleaning staff came to clean my room while I was at breakfast. Shouldn't they wait until after breakfast hours? I hadn't put away any of my belongings. I can only hope that Shangri-La staff wouldn't steal my skincare products 😔, and the room wasn't even cleaned properly... what was the rush? I've stayed at several Shangri-La properties, and this one is the worst experience so far. That said, it's not terrible, and I still recommend it. I just hope the hotel improves!"

"The hotel's location is super convenient; you can walk to Dongguan Street, Pishi Street, and Ge Garden. The Ancient Grand Canal is right across the street. The hotel service is also excellent; they upgraded our room, and the view from the room was fantastic. They even proactively informed us about the late-night snack options. Absolutely wonderful!"

The hotel is located at Yangzhou International Exhibition Center and provides plenty of free parking, both above ground and underground. The hotel elevator goes directly to the underground garage. The breakfast buffet in the morning was also excellent! Hygiene: Clean and tidy Facilities: Comprehensive Environment: Very good Service: Very good"

Holiday Inn Express YANGZHOU CITY CENTER by IHG

Holiday Inn Express YANGZHOU CITY CENTER by IHG ★★★★

📍 No. 75 Wenhe North Road, Guangling District, Yangzhou

"The room was quite spacious, but the decor felt a bit outdated, definitely not something from the last year or two. The TV was especially small. However, the hotel's location is excellent, right on a street corner. After walking around, I noticed there are many hotels clustered in that area. It's also within walking distance of Dongguan Street, which is a big plus."

Yangzhou State Guesthouse ★★★★★
"This was my second stay at the Yangzhou State Guesthouse, again in Building 8, and it was a great experience. This time, I booked a family room. In addition to the welcome fruit, we received yogurt every evening and tea suitable for a family of three, plus a blind box. All our meals could be enjoyed within the hotel. We savored authentic Huaiyang cuisine at 78 Taste in Building 11, Ju Restaurant in Building 18, and Shan Restaurant in Building 8. The hotel offered a variety of activities; we enjoyed the hot springs, experienced Yangzhou's intangible cultural heritage 'Three Knives,' and even had a travel photoshoot. Slender West Lake is within walking distance, and Geyuan Garden, Daming Temple, and the Grand Canal Museum are easily accessible by taxi."

"This was my second stay at Atour in a short period, and the entire experience truly made me feel right at home. **Amenities:** The hotel's public areas are equipped with a gym and high-performance washer-dryers, which is incredibly convenient for both short-term and long-stay travelers. The Dyson hairdryer in the room also added a touch of luxury and comfort. Most four-star hotels have terrible hairdryers, and it's rare to find one with a Dyson; so far, Atour is the only four-star hotel where I've seen it. The robot delivery service is also very convenient. **Minibar:** The suite has a capsule coffee machine, and the highlight is that they use Peet's coffee capsules, which are rich in crema and make an authentic Americano with just one press. Below that, the minibar offers three complimentary drinks and snacks from the hotel. **Ambiance:** The lighting is bright yet soft, and the strong brand presence gives it a very upscale feel. However, it doesn't have the overly opulent and somewhat detached vibe of a five-star hotel; overall, it's quite cozy and inviting. **Hygiene:** Everything feels incredibly clean and reassuring to use. I rarely wear bathrobes in hotels at this price point, but I actually wore this one – it was very comfortable. **Service:** The staff's attitude was excellent as always. Each time, there's a welcome gift; this time, it was an Artemisia argyi moxibustion hammer."

Shangri-La Hotel Yangzhou ★★★★★
"The room was very spacious, and the bed was wide enough. The amenities were excellent, and the location was fantastic, right next to the Superdome stadium. The surrounding facilities were also great, and the environment was beautiful. There's even a Black Pearl Michelin one-star restaurant (Shang Palace) on the first floor. It's also very close to Jinghua City Shopping Center, just a ten-minute walk away. My experience was excellent, and I'll definitely stay at the Shangri-La Hotel again next time."

Mercure Hotel (Yangzhou Dongguan Street) ★★★★★
"The hotel's location is excellent, just a stone's throw away from Dongguan Street and Dongguan Ferry. The facilities are relatively new, making it a great value-for-money option. More importantly, the hotel staff, from the lobby manager to the front desk receptionists and even the doorman, are all incredibly polite. Their recommendations for restaurants and tourist attractions were spot on, with no duds. So, I'd give the hotel itself 4 stars, and an extra star for the amazing service, making it a total of 5 stars."

Hampton by Hilton (Wenchang Road, Yangzhou) ★★★★
"When I took my child to Yangzhou, I initially booked a family room, but it didn't specify that it had a sofa bed. We then realized it was completely unsuitable for sleeping. My first attempt to communicate with the front desk was met with a very unhelpful male staff member. However, after contacting Trip.com customer service, Manager Gao from the hotel quickly stepped in. Within 10 minutes, he helped us switch to a different room type and even prepared a gift for my child. He also promptly contacted his colleagues to update the details of the family room type, changing the description from 'single bed' to 'sofa bed'. This shows great responsibility, not only to us but also to future guests (as we usually avoid sofa beds when booking family rooms). A big thank you again to Manager Gao; he is both capable and efficient. Our trip to Yangzhou ended perfectly."

"Free parking is a plus, though it's a bit of a walk from the hotel. The location itself is quite convenient, and the dim sum for breakfast nearby is a great option. One night here is generally enough."
