由於剛裝修完,酒店硬件一流,所有設備都是新的,一進房間有香香的原木味,房間配置了一個露天風呂,水温足夠熱,但不確定是不是天然温泉。 預定是一泊二食,餐食也很滿意。

This is a very small town and although we’ve seen many foreigners visiting this town and this hotel on Youtube (one of the reasons we decided to stay here), it is very foreigner ‘unfriendly’ to say the least. It seemed hotel staff only spoke Japanese, so if you don’t speak it, it will be very difficult to enjoy the amenities. Staff were nice, but not very flexible (strictly by the rules, we supposed) thus not as accommodating as other ryokans we’ve stayed in. Dinner was very nicely presented and tasty…so many dishes that we couldn’t finish all (& we are big eaters) …felt bad leaving food untouched :(. The 9 Onsen tour was on my Bucket List and we got that done in less than an hour not by choice but because the water was soooooooo hot that we couldn’t even stick our feet in…almost scorched the bottom of my feet from. Very disappointing :(.

⭐Geographical location: Yudanaka Hot Spring is relatively close to Jigokudani Monuen, a 20-minute walk from the station. It should be noted that you can pick up the station before 5 pm. We arrived at 5:30, but the boss said we could not pick up. Although the distance is not long, it still takes a while to walk on the mountain road. You can also take a bus, which runs every half an hour. ⭐Service: There are two shopkeepers serving you, and their attitude is very good. They will help you deliver your luggage to the coffee shop next to the station when you travel the next day. It should be noted that if you check in after 3 pm, you will not be able to make calls in the morning. I left something in the room. No one answered the phone after three calls. In the end, I had to go to the store to get it again. ⭐Facilities: The room layout is relatively simple and the facilities are relatively simple. To be honest, the heating is relatively small and it is a bit cold at night. There is no shower room and toilet, and the sink only has cold water. Shower rooms and hot springs need to be charged separately, 500 yen. Public toilets (all small Japanese-style hotels are like this) are very clean, because there are few rooms and few guests, and you have never touched anyone else in the toilet. Anyway, the price/performance ratio is pretty good. ⭐Meals: Our order included dinner and breakfast, but the portions were small and not enough to fill us up. When we got out of the station, we had to remember to buy some food from Lawson. There are no convenience stores in the hot spring street! Mineral water is not provided, and there is an additional charge of +100yen. ⭐Hot spring: You can soak in 9 soups on the street, but there is only one key, so you have to go there separately. The private soup shop in the store is in B1. It is relatively simple, has a lot of moisture, and is not very clean. It is recommended to go to the public soup house. Although the boss said that there is no place to take a bath in the public bath, so you can only buy a private bath + shower, which is a bit embarrassing.
Yudanaka Tawaraya Ryokan

This traditional Ryokan hotel is a little gem of a place and the family hosts are just wonderful. Had the best night sleep of my 2 week trip to Japan sleeping on Ryokan bed. Rooms and hotel is extremely clean, we had our own toilet and washbasin but you have to share showers which wasn't an issue. The family are so friendly, speak very good English. It's a short walk (10mins) to Shibu-Onsen village and only 5mins to Yudanaka train station. We stayed here for one night to visit the Snow monkey park and to experience an Onsen. The hotel has 2 onsens, shared and private. You can pre-book shared Onsen at check-in. I'd love to return to this Ryokan at winter time.

Absolutely stunning ryokan Our corner room had great views of the surrounding mountains (the town has 360 degrees of mountain views) The private onsen was a real treat just get in when ever you wanted. Amazing food and the staff were super friendly and very accommodating, even the hotels owner stops to have a chat with all the guests. Only down side for us, is we didn’t book extra nights there!
Yorozuya

I have been to Yudanaka Onsen several times, but this was my first time at Yorozuya. There was a shuttle service from Yudanaka Station, so I used it, but it was about a 10-minute walk away. In the lobby, which you enter from the entrance and go up the stairs, there is a large ”Karajishizu byobu” (a folding screen depicting a Chinese lion). It was originally from the Mori family, but it is impressive. We were given welcome sweets and matcha in this lobby. The room was a 10-tatami Japanese-style room and a 7-tatami room next to each other. We were able to use the room spaciously. In addition to the ”Momoyama Bath”, a registered tangible cultural property that makes this inn famous, there is also a ”Shinonome Bath” that is used by men and women on an alternating basis. We had both dinner and breakfast in a ”private room”. This inn is famous for its baths and history, but after eating there, I felt that the dinner and breakfast were very delicious and that it was good to stay there for that reason as well. It seems that a ”detached building” will be completed in front of the main building soon. This is a classic hotel that represents Yudanaka.
